he should know better, very foolish thing to do

no one knows what he said or how he said it or who he said it too so why jump to conclusions?

oh wait i forgot...the agenda...

So we don't know what he said or how he said it but you're prepared to call him foolish.

So long as everyone is treated the same I have no problems, but I'll be very surprised if what Barry said was groundbreaking.

he's clearly said something that one of the officials found offensive/ insulting

he should know better, he's been playing the game long enough and he'll get a three game ban...very foolish thing to do

Re: Gareth Barry has been charged by The FA

Wayne Rooney and Andy Carroll. Just watch these two during a game. Every single game that these two play - without fail - they are constantly shouting at the ref with real venom and anger, any of the following words or phrases:

"Fuck off"
"Fuck off you cünt"
"Oi you fucking cünt"
"Fuck you"
"You fucking twat"

Sometimes one whole sentence shouted at the ref consists of all of those in conjunction; "Fuck off, Fuck off you cünt, Oi you fucking cünt, Fuck you, You fucking twat"

So long as every player is treated the same I have no problem (although 3 games forwhat is effectively a yellow card offence is pathetic). But we all know they aren't treated the same and that is where he is entitled to feel hard done by.

Re: Gareth Barry has been charged by The FA

The time to just give up is fast approaching.

I'm starting to wonder why I put so much time, effort and money into something so corrupt.

Nasri got a yellow for it in the game, surely if Barry's comments were abusive he would have got a yellow too? Makes no sense at all.

What does he actually get for being "charged" ?

looks like a 1 game ban and maybe a fine

Exactly my feelings at the moment the game has become a complete farce

its not a yellow card offence though, using offensive / abusive and or insulting language (this doesnt have to be towards a match official by the way) is a straight red card offence

yes, consistency is all anyone can ask of referees, but until we know what he said i dont think we can call for consistency

Re: Gareth Barry has been charged by The FA

I'm guessing that if you asked the average fan on the street who the 'top 10 players who give it out to officials' were, Gareth Barry would not be on it.
I'm also guessing there might be a few rags who were.

As we know that foul and abusive language is regularly directed at referees during a game I think we can.

Re: Gareth Barry has been charged by The FA

The problem is now Barry goes to the hearing but he wont take a video with him with other players telling fuck off to referees all the time.

He should put it a big TV and show the same "offences" by other players Rooney, Fedinand etc.

He should defend himself like this.

Or at least ask why arent they charged why is he the only one?
