Gareth Barry

I don't think this man gets enough credit for what he does; with dispossessing opponents then distributing the ball wonderfully what more do you want. His ball to Bellamy to assist Adebayor was prime Barry and being from the Midlands it was great to see him sign for us to get them off those villa scumbags anyway that's another rant for another day.

He's a class player and is a prominent England player from our team. (I think he should of been captain but hey!)

I think he's fantastic defensively and that a lot of people don't see that but come on, he doesn't distribute the ball wonderfully. He played one decent pass on Sunday and suddenly he's a wonderful distributor of the ball? Most of the time he passes the ball 5-10 yards to the left winger or left back, or back to the defence. For games when we don't need De Jong I'd have Barry and then a real box-to-box all round proper midfielder, who would obviously be a new signing, or Michael Johnson if he can get fit.

yeh he's class, just saying he had a massive loss in form and with better players in our squad he could of found himself on the bench alot, that's all.

with a top class midfielder next to him, he will excel himself even more.

If KAKA can move to RM and play KAKA then even Barry should be excused a loss of form - agree he needs a quality midfield player with him to flourish.

i honestly think we will go back for him, i wouldn't complain with this:

Johnson----Kaka----Barry----Bellers

brilliant.

Loss of form shit happens but he is a quality player - one who wanted to come to us - signed in a day no shit no hassle and has played almost every game this season. Personally i would drop DJ in place of Barry and buy a attacking midfield player - the player we all wanted Superman to be this year.

I'm pretty glad in retrospect that he didn't lose his place because he has been worth his weight in gold these last few matches and it is such an important part of the season now.

I hope not personally i think that there has to be other players out there that would contribute on the field i am just not sure he would cut it in the prem but yes he is a world class player

Is it just me or does anybody else think Kaka has gone to f*ck altogether, He used to have that burst of pace to take on 2 or 3 players but dosent have it anymore, and in all honesty he has been a flop in la liga.

Let's not get carried away, eh?
He's been inconsistent (to say the least of it!) this season; downright awful at times.
He's improved of late (since the Everton debacle) but so has the rest of the team. Yesterday, he was outstanding - against Birmingham, who may well be 'on the beach' for all any of us actually know (further results will tell).
Let's see how Barry does against the rags on Saturday. The last three times we've played them, they made our midfield look very average. Barry was utterly anonymous in the semi at the swamp. You know, when it actually counted...
Well, he's bang in form now (and so is the rest of the team). Here they come again. Time to put the record straight. Now's his chance to stand up be more than just another footballer with an exaggerated reputation. He's not the only one, either. We're nearly there (chump's league, I mean) but well, nearly never won the race. If we're brutally honest (and we should be), this City team has actually acheived sweet f**k all yet. Fourteen goals in the last three games will only be a bitter sweet memory if we let ourselves down in the remaining five fixtures.
Gareth Barry and the rest of the team have put themselves into a position where they have a chance to prove the doubters wrong. Nothing more and nothing less.
I really, really hope he - and the rest of them - seize on it with glee. I'll not be demanding the club commission any statues in Barry's honour, just yet, mind. He has a long, long way to go before he gets back to the levels of consistency that he showed with Villa.

I posted similar and got slated - he is a wonderful players who seems to save his best for Brazil - RM is one of only a few clubs that could spunk god knows how many millions on buying him and then drop him because his form is shite - any other club would be forced to play him hence why i dont want him here - players in the mould of Scholes - Gerrard - Essian - Lampard are the ones i would be happier with

imo i don't think he's ever settled there since he arrived, did he really wanna go there in the first place is what i am wondering?

apprently he said 'yes' to us, he's injured now they say, close sources to madrid say he isn't, just some background shit happening with him at the club, wouldn't suprise me if he left in the summer.

IMO if we had any other players better than gaz baz he would of been on the bench alot between January to the end of March, he's been shit and non-exsistant in all the games and not got into them enough, he started the season on fire though and towards crimbo completely dipped.

he's come good again the last 3 weeks though, he was quality against Wigan, brilliant at Burnley and absolutely outstanding yesterday.

I agree with the above, but would add that he was good against Fulham.
For long stretches of the season he's been anonymous, been too slow to close down on the edge of the area, and given the ball away too cheaply at times.
I have a long standing theory that he's a flat track bully (for England, Villa and now City), looks brilliant against lesser sides when his lack of pace and mediocre first touch don't get him in trouble. He usually isn't closed down as quickly in these matches. But, for me, he's a liability in matches where he is closed down quickly and doesn't get time on the ball. We'll see on Saturday, and I really do hope I'm wrong.

Top player.

Thought he was fantastic at the beginning of the season when De Jong wasnt playing!!

Wasnt as impressive when De Jong made the team but is starting to play better again!!

Dont think he and De Jong are compatible!!!
