With respect, Holland are not the Holland of old, they used to be fantastic and produced some world class players, nowhere near that level now, and again, with respect, we should be comfortably beating the Swiss, beating that level of opposition isn't being disrespectful.
 
Why do they say he almost won us a trophy, he never did and if you watched both finals you ll know what I am talking about. Apart from beating Spain away in that Europa conference with Sterling and Rashford in their prime he ALWAYS FECKING FAILED to nudge any team decent above average! Totally clueless and good riddance! The only worse thing is those FA chancers will pick Carsley. Or anybody knows if Boohtroyd is available?

That's a Holland side that France couldn't beat this tournament and a Swiss side that battered Italy and held Germany - The predicted outcome on the match day polls on here had England to lose against both these sides.

On a serious note, he did his best, got England to some finals due to having talented players and fortunate fixtures. he's not cut out to really succeed against good managers at this level when it comes down to it, that's become a clear and obvious pattern.

If we're being realistic, the players could've managed themselves and beat the teams they did actually beat in tournaments, which were pretty much all mediocre teams. But Southgate was there, so he deserves credit too.

Good bloke but not a top manager.

Good luck to him, maybe he can manage a club and prove people wrong and if he does, fair play... but I don't see him really cutting it at a good level.

luck of the draw more than anything - big beast teams drawn against each other while we struggled past Cheltenham Ladies' College
 
Being a national manager is an old mans job. People may not agree but I'd be tempted to give the job to Twitcher. At least he may play some expansive football. Him and Rosie the perfect choice.
