Garry Cook interview with Sky lifting the lid on takeover, Robinho, Kaka etc

I think he could do a great job for us - without being employed by us - by calling out the media for their digs, exposing how much power and influence the likes of rags, scousers, RM, Barca, Munich have got and showing what FFP was really about.
An unofficial PR/attack dog.

Very interesting video & surprising how young some of the players looked back in the day.

Many City people have thought that some of the players we have allegedly been linked to have just been using us to get a better deal - one way or another.

Wonder what G.C. would make of how we played the Sanchez situation to give our neighbours a really, really wonderful deal & for the next few years, maybe a gift that keeps on giving.

I love stuff like this. It's not exactly completely new information and nothing he said really expanded beyond that interview he did on the Bluemoon Podcast a few years ago, but it was really nice to be reminded of that era of following City - all the excitement you felt while watching us get better and better with each passing season, but without the pressure we have now that comes when you're expected to win things. It's funny to think that we almost did in fact sign Kaka and John Terry back when we were throwing crazy money around to catch up - to think we may never have signed, say, Lescott and Silva because we might not have needed them at the time! There are a few things either Garry himself or Dharmesh just skirted around or ignored, like the finer details of Sven's departure, the Robinho signing (he didn't really believe he was coming to City, did he?) and Cook's eventual departure from the club, but if you've got 40 minutes to spare and haven't done much digging on what happened behind the scenes at City between 2008 and 2011 then you'll have a great time.

Great watch and Gary was a top bloke. You'll never see another another CEO who had time for the fans like he did.

Yup. Well worth watching and you are correct that Cook genuinely cared about the supporters. Soriano obviously has lots of positive attributes and has brought plenty to the club, including Pep, but he has no relationship with the supporters and he seems to spend a lot of time on his CFG baby. So it's a shame that there is not a place now for Cook focused just on MCFC.

like i said so so many times sheikh mansour was not only good for manchester city but for football itself

the premier league have a lot to thank the great man for, but the media and tv have really done us and him over with the money tag and cheap digs, when you look back on the premier league its was on its knees and everybody was sick of united and sky getting their own way, even chelsea and abramovich money did not scare them because the money was only available to united and chelsea the likes of arsenal and liverpool just made up the new top 4 and the rest was just making up the numbers (cannon fodder) and when somebody stood out at a club united or chelsea would just go out and sign him for £30million that was the bench mark

funny thing is and that people not understand or want to understand is the money manchester city spend goes back into football so both manchester city and the others all benefit. so why so much bad press ?? well we all know why UNITED dare you take them on and knock them off their pedestal and have the power to stand up to them and look them in the eye, manchester city and sheikh mansour was not in football just to make up the numbers we wanted to be TOP DOG and boy 10 years are just the start

Do you honestly think Sheik Mansour gives a shiny shite what "Barry" from his Bangalore wankpit, Talkshyte with their clickbait, Dean Saunders or the Pride of Singapore post on their Twitter account? If he actually lowers himself to even look at their dribble he probably laughs until he shits.

And so should we.
