Without sounding like I'm looking for someone to blame, I'm not as it happens because I dont actually think we are ready in our evolution to be spending 100m on a player at this stage, my feeling is that Gary Cook is now seriouasly undermined.

Armed with limitless funding, and a club ready to sell their prized asset, he failed to close the deal.

At that level, that raises serious questions about his ability to do the job. Or is it the small club mentallity that has burdened this deal?

This deal should have been closed down much sooner, the longer it drew on, the less chance it had of acually coming off.

Agree with this. I am sure he does not have limitless funding he will be working within clearly defined parameters.

We've got to respect Cook for the way this has been handled. Also the interviews afterwards explaining the situation. I still think the deal was close to being done but as Cook stated AC wimped out
