Gary Neville in contempt of court.

I agree with all of that but first we have to change how we treat women. Giggs forced his sister in law to have an abortion. He had an affair with her for 7 years. He was a serial adulterer. He was the manager of a national team.

Agreed, we have to change things. This means stopping any of the above from happening again !

Let’s start by dissolving Wales

Can't help but think this really seems to plonk domestic violence as being somehow acceptable. Does this case send out any positive message for would be abused to come forward and have their day in court? Look at our pathetically low rape conviction rates, sickening.

They overcharged him and wasted days of the jury's time on absolute irrelevant nonsense. If they'd simply charged him on 2 counts of common assault, the chances of him being convicted rise massively. Instead they charge him with ABH and Controling and Coersive behaviour, which under the spotlight he wasn't guilty of either.

Unless Neville admits it, there’s no chance of proving his intentions.

I agree that this is unlikely to ever get that far but if it did get as far as a trial then it’s true that Neville wouldn’t have to prove his innocence. He doesn’t have to even give evidence of course. But in reality if any reasonable person could not imagine any other scenario than his comments were aimed at the person it was being suggested, then he would be playing a very dangerous game if he couldn’t come up with a believable alternative.

Take it a step further. Imagine the moment Mendy stepped into the witness box at Chester Crown Court ( assuming he does ) a high profile person tweeted something like… Don’t believe a word that rapist Mendy says. They later claimed they were talking about the Chelsea goalie. Without offering some sort of believable context, I’d suggest that person has every chance of being done for contempt.

Wouldn't any drink driver say he didn't mean to kill the pedestrian though?

That would only be relevant if the charge was something like murder though. In the vast majority, if not all, Death by Dangerous or Careless Driving cases, there is never any suggestion they intended to kill, so they wouldn’t need to deny it.

If Neville had named anyone in the Giggs trial, then he’d probably already be in prison.

He didn’t, so unless he admits it was about the trial, there’s no way of proving it was.

The timing and content of his Instagram post leaves it beyond doubt what he was referring to in my mind. How could it possibly refer to the Glazers? If the burden of proof is "beyond reasonable doubt", he's guilty as charged.

It would be great if he got sent down for a few years whilst Giggs walked free.
That w#nker Giggs, should never, ever, ever walk free.
He is a tw#t of the highest order...
