He displays far more insight than any other pundit and I think he's a fairly intelligent bloke too, which usually endears people to me.

Most of all though, he's fair. Another quality I admire in others.

His analysis is top rate but he let himself down on Sunday firstly by suggesting Dempsey would have been better off going down under Evra's tackle rather than staying on his feet and attempting to score, and then by his OTT criticism of De Gea's part in the build up to the Spurs equaliser. This was borne out of pure frustration and disappointment that United had not won and not on objective analysis, even Redknapp felt the need to pull him up on this.
