If that was me posting that....Was sat next to him at a bar, on Brighton seafront, about three hours before kick-off, final game of last season. I was already hammered by that point!

Yes, the thought did occur tbf, but I figured it was central to the subject matter, and so beyond any reasoned criticism. If that was me posting that....
Might be out of your arse. Or your nose. Or both.Peter Barnes was due to do a night in a bar in Tavira Portugal a couple of days after I was there last January.
I am sure I heard that he or Gary Owen were quite involved in the walking football leagues for the expats in the Algarve. Brian Kilkline also being mentioned....Algarveblue or someone might know if I am talking out of my arse.

Completely agree about Halifax, the fucking H word, took me decades to get over, and ShrewsburyI also couldn't believe it...couldn't comprehend what was going on.
But I tell you what..I cried when Big Mal got sacked. He probably destroyed our club ..but he was such a big presence ..always talking City Up...to this young teenager..he was a god! The results were incredibly bad...I still shudder when anyone says '"Halifax'" i really do...but there was something about Big Mal.

You and gdm strike me as very different peopleIf that was me posting that....
Do you accept that Brian Kilcline was a close proximation of Captain Caveman?Quite possible, I was in shock at the time having discovered that cheap beer and nice weather in January does exist.
Don't mention Shrewsbury! !! Nightmare memory from 1979....Completely agree about Halifax, the fucking H word, took me decades to get over, and Shrewsbury
I’m younger, funnier and better looking than him.You and gdm strike me as very different people

AppropriateI do indeed he was what used to be known as an agricultural player in some respects of a similar ilk to our own much loved Gerry Gow. Sadly their kind consigned to the history books and old ****s like me boring the youth of today with tales of when football was a mans game and when City getting a draw in a derby or not getting knocked out of a cup by Halifax Shrewsbury Blackpool or Barnsley was something to be rejoiced and celebrated with the kind of unbridled joy that is reserved for winning the League cup these days.....Horse and dog shit, giant puddles a foot deep, seeing swales sat in his throne across in the mainstand, those were the days. (hovis music playing whilst writing post).
Not sure I agree with you, mate. Loved being a City fan then, always have - but the last ten years have been the most enjoyable, by some considerable distance.I do indeed he was what used to be known as an agricultural player in some respects of a similar ilk to our own much loved Gerry Gow. It was both character-building, and soul-destroying.Not sure I agree with you, mate. Loved being a City fan then, always have - but the last ten years have been the most enjoyable, by some considerable distance.
Being shit, is pretty shit.
It was that! So glad I experienced it, but glad I’m not experiencing it anymore! It was both character-building, and soul-destroying.
