Gaston Ramirez

"FIFA agent Pablo Betancourt" only seems to come up in Google relating to this deal, is this another of those fake agents that speak to Italian media?

As of Jun 1st, Pablo Betancourt will be come Ramirez' exclusive agent, so player profile may not be listed till the 1st.

I've seen a couple of games from him. He's quite good, a bit of a kaka and hazard in that mould. He's a good dribbler, not as good as Hazard but a bit better than AJ, runs quite fast and has amazing passing like Kaka in a way. He's tall too. He's young too, 21 years old. ( a month older than Hazard)

Like someone said above, he's a bit inconsistent hasn't had a huge breakout season like Hazard and is definitely a bit of a downgrade. However compared to Hazard, I feel he is a bit of a better finisher, but then Hazard creates more chances so scores more.

In short, with his potential ( Cos it really seems like he could be a great player) at 15 m euros , he'll be a good buy as long as we keep AJ.

His nickname is el nino btw, so when we play Chelsea we could chant that our el nino is better than theirs.

Some of these dopey 'agents' do not know how to conduct business and don't even realise when their actions are counter-productive to their client's best interests. You don't tell the premier club in the UK what to do and when to do it...that is just a dumb way to do business.

If I were the young kids family I would sack this 'agent' on the spot!

I know it's been said that you could make any player look good with a youtube video, but my God he has got some skills on there. The thing is you can never judge what their all-round game is like - but as Mancini rates him you have to guess he's got more to his repertoire than just the skill.

How many players in our current team are willing to take on players like that? Yaya goes past players due to his size, speed and acceleration; from that vid online he looks like a natural successor to the Tevez we've seen at the end of this season - someone to play behind the forwards and create chances from nothing.

Until I see a full game though I can't say for sure what I think of him.

agreed. looks impressive, but i still don't know much about the guy.

i've heard he's a 'striker'...what's is true position? striker? CAM? winger?

also, how pacey is he??

I haven't seen very much of him, but from the highlights it appears that he's quite intelligent with his plays and seems to make good decisions.

This summer's Cerci.

Exactly my thoughts
He isn't really. We were linked to him last year too. He is pretty good, Has that wonderful passing touch. He is like Nasri in my opinion, as in he doesn't have a defined posiition. I watched him a lot more 2 seasons ago when we were linked to him. Only saw him once last season. I am sure he is better now than he was 2 seasons ago.

According to his Wikipedia page, he is from Fray Bentos in Uruguay...just hope his diet is a little better.

It looks like he is signing a deal with Uncle Bens though.

Bologna negotiating sale of Ramirez

June 12, 2012

By ESPN Staff

Bologna's general manager, Roberto Zanzi, has revealed the Italian club are negotiating the sale of reported Manchester City target Gaston Ramirez with "an important foreign club".

Coveted playmaker Ramirez has been linked with a string of top sides and his agent, Pablo Betancourt, previously stated that it was "very probable" the Uruguay international would move on.

City, Liverpool, Juventus and Tottenham are all believed to have shown an interest in Ramirez and, although Zanzi would not name the club he was talking to, he did reveal they would have to increase their offer.

"We are negotiating with an important foreign club for Ramirez, but their offer does not satisfy us," Zanzi told Italian newspaper Il Resto del Carlino. "The deal is by no means close to completion."

Earlier this month, Bologna placed a price tag of over £20 million on the 21-year-old Ramirez, who is under contract with the club until June 2016.

City boss Roberto Mancini revealed himself to be a fan of the South American last month, saying: "Ramirez is a good young player, with great potential."

Ramirez joined Bologna from Penarol in 2010 and scored eight goals in 33 league appearances last season to help the Rossoblu finish ninth in Serie A.
