Yes it was after 2.30, but can't give a specific time as my main battle was hobbling to the ground.

They were locked, my back can confirm that. Why would it be mentioned if they were open ?
Just to confirm, these are the gates leading onto Ashton New Road, between the chippy and Councillor Street. 3 sets of gates.

There ARE three others (one's a bit set back off the Ashton New Road) but this is the one we're discussing. I'm just observing that everyone thinks it was open for the Luton game except you. It was def shut for the derby and for Villa. The other three are shut every week (never seen them open even on non-match days)

Gates were open before and after game for luton as I use the cut through next to the townley and come out near the chippy.

According to the Manchester Council website, residents are provided with keys to the gates so that the alleys are for use by residents only.

Maybe most residents are happy for them to be left open but other aren't.

Just searched that link and there are no orders listed for them streets. So they shouldn't be locked.
