I'm Sam's Mum and I would just like to say how much it means to me and the rest of his family to see his face (even though it's an awful photo!) and read the wonderful tributes to him here. You are all welcome to come to the funeral on Friday at 3pm at Agecroft - City shirts or just something blue would be great. I am waiting for a a justgiving site to be set up for donations to the Red Cross, as Sam collected for them outside the ground a few times.
Thank you so much - Sue
Sue

I am so sorry for you and your family's loss.

Sam was a witty poster, as many have said, but I first noticed him in a thread about depression eighteen or so months ago. It was a subject that he spoke about with great sensitivity, compassion and understanding. For me that was his genius: an ability to be a joker, with a capacity to switch effortlessly to make a more serious point when required. I shared quite a few Personal Messages with him and his decency and good humour, if anything, were more evident through that more private medium. Like many others on here I always looked out for his posts and I shall miss him greatly. The place seems a little empty without him. People often say kind things about people when they pass, but I hope you can see from what has been said about Sam on here that he was held in genuine high regard and with tremendous affection on Bluemoon. He really was the glue that held this forum together, such was his presence.

I met him all too briefly a few weeks ago, for which I am grateful. He really was a great guy.

Re: Gaudino's Stolen Car

Thanks everyone, love the new photo (possibly now a bit too flattering!) and the shirt design. The charity donation site is now set up on www.redcross.org.uk/samwhite
Hope we can raise lots of money for them so some good can come from our sadness.

Re: Gaudino's Stolen Car

I can't believe this. As many have said he was funny and he brightened our days up with his comments and stories but he could be compassionate as well. Sometimes it's difficult to gauge someones personality over a keyboard but in Sam's or GSC's case this isn't so, you knew he was a top fella and I regret not meeting him face to face. RIP mate, never to be forgotten on Bluemoon.

Re: Gaudino's Stolen Car

Quite shocked to log on and see this.

I did not know him, but do feel a loss.

RIP, Sam White, knowing you connected with people around the world through this brotherhood of Blues.

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to the funeral, which I'm gutted about. Curse not being able to drive.

Is anyone offering a lift?

Put your location - there might be someone nearby.
