Love him or hate him, he'll still be in our midfield 3 for the big games. IMO a real unsung hero.
Cue OTT Barry statements

Are you a Villa fan?

Only joking. I rate him as well but not sure he should be an automatic starter.

haha I'm blue through and through.

Just think Mancini won't move away from the combative midfield 3 for the big games

He doesn't get mention cos he doesn't do a lot. But for what he does he's a quality player.

no chance this season am afraid!!! just hope gaz baz enjoys being in one of the best all round squads in the world and at his age enjoys champions league and hopefully more trophies with less games.

Definite un-sung hero. Mancini rates him, all recent England managers rate him so he must be doing something right.

Yeah, you are right. There has to be some "hard core" "boring" players in the team in order to win the premiership. Some people on here thinks you can play with only flair players. Look at united - how many flair players do they have? And how many dicipined hard workers?

who will replace him then?! Nobody in our current squad will be selected ahead of him

I agree with the OP. For the tough away games both here and in Europe, I would expect Mancini to drop a forward and put in a tough midfielder.

-- Sat Jul 30, 2011 8:28 am --

I agree with the OP. I can see that happening as well. For the trips to the old ''Sky 4'' I can see us adopting the same attitude that we had last season, though hopefully a bit better at Anfield!

Perhaps Mancini is looking for competition in that position

Someone with height and bite would be great

Just played a wonder ball to SWP in the Dublin Super Cup!!!

Under-rated. Hasn't quite found that creative spark he had at villa. Still class to have in the squad

Dont think it is the creative sppark. He stood out a Villa doing the same job but had poorer players around him
