Just how crucial was this guy to us winning the title? For me he is the coolest guy on the field. He has progressed so much in terms of his technical play it beggers belief. some of his passing is a delight to watch and his positional awareness is immense.

How the fuck then do the baloons on Rag Cafe fail to see this? It can only be 1 of 2 reasons. Firstly they quite honestly haven't got the foggiest about football, They spout shit and believe their own bollocks which in part is my second point, that being they have perpetuated the bull shit belief that Barry is crap so much they totaly believe it. He could be Iniesta and they would still say he's crap.

But what gets me most is their absolute belief that Michael Generic is a better player than him: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.redcafe.net/f7/gareth-barry-354455/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redcafe.net/f7/gareth-barry-354455/</a>

Unfucking real. Aparantly when we realise Barry is shit we will bin him and spend a huge amount on someone else... Wankers.

I feel really sorry him missing euro2012. Picking up an injury in a friendly is pure bad luck. He may not get to play at another major tourament.
Unlucky Gaz.

He has taken an enormous battering on twitter and by every journo I have seen comment on him in the last few days. How England will be better off without him and how he is not international class, too slow etc. He is best off out of England as he needs a rest and won't miss out on any medals this summer. Those that watch him every week and play with him know how good he is and how much work he does off the ball, how he reads the game etc. David Silva voted him player of season, probably to make a point of how under appreciated he is. He wins the ball back much quicker and better than Carrick and Parker but then just gives it and keeps it simple. He can be exposed in a 4-4-2 when there is no easy pass in midfield and that is why the City system suits him much better than Roy's 4-4-2 where we couldn't even keep the ball better than Norway the other day. It does annoy me sometimes that most non-City fans don't rate him but he has said City are the perfect club for him and Mancini would have replaced him by now if he didn't rate him so he probably feels loved enough by us and the rest of the staff to not worry about it too much.

The rags etc have a go cos he's a better player than theirs , simple jealousy and bitterness.
We would not have won the title without Barry, it's as simple as that.

No greater truth will be said this day.

Might they have a point: <a class="postlink" href="http://fourfourtwo.com/blogs/statszone/archive/2012/05/16/why-michael-carrick-should-start-for-england-this-summer.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://fourfourtwo.com/blogs/statszone/ ... ummer.aspx</a>

I would be interested to see the stats when they have played for England.

Carrick looks lost in an England shirt, as if he himself does not feel he belongs.

tbf on ragcafe a lot are giving him credit and saying he's underrated

but the who england fan cliche 'gareth barry is shit' is so boring. so many jokes, now that barry is out, we stand a better chance etc...

absolute tosh, i think most journos i follow are actually the ones who are saying he will be missed, because they actually watch him play.
