Gazza

Was at Wembley the day he took Scotland apart, i will always have that memory of him, why why why do you do it to yourself, when you go it will be a sad day for every football fan

He was advertised to be doing one of these in Norwich last season. I was chatting to a load of Spurs fans who'd come over to see him. It was cancelled at the last minute due to him being hammered.

Doesn't look like he's going to sort himself out and his agent seems to be making a nice earner at £100 each for 500 people.....

Needs to be in hospital, not being paraded around the after dinner circuit at a ton a pop. All smacks of a travelling freak show.
Well said JOTS. Surely none of the attendees were expecting Will Self levels of witty oration. They were there to gawp, simple as. Shame on them.
Rubbernecking.

The one true world class player England have had in years, who can forget Italy 1990 and Euro 1996?

He was a delight to watch in his prime, often talented people also seem to have a self destruct button.I pray he gets himself together and has a happy contented life but i really fear the worst.

This. Best English player I've ever seen - and by an absolute country mile. Watching our so-called world class players of the past years habitually fail to perform on the international stage just puts his performances in 90 and 96 into even sharper relief.

A true footballing hero for me - one who I would always have paid to watch, irrespective of where he was playing.

And, of course, can only echo the last part of the post above and wish him all the best.

My brother was a season ticket holder when he was at Rangers.

Said he was simply a phenomenal footballer. And this is from someone who played the game as a professional himself albeit abroad.

He said what stood out, was his workrate when he didn't have the ball.

And all this was when he was supposedly on the decline.

Could have been one of the best.

WAS one of the best. But, to put it bluntly, he was a fucking idiot away from the pitch. Toomuch of the high life, and too many hangers on around him (remember that ''five bellies'' twat?). Crying shame how it's turned out for Gazza. I wouldn't be surprised to wake up one morning and hear on the news that he's died. Sorry if that upsets anyone on here, but it makes me angry to see a young bloke like that turn out the way he has.
