This story is nonsense.

Supporting free speech doesn’t mean you have to listen to people abusing you on a social media platform.


It’s a story template that comes from Elon Musk, where it had legitimacy because he was claiming to make Twitter the ultimate free speech platform and stopped racists etc from being banned or shadow banned, and it was quite funny and ironic and hypocritical for him to then block people and ban them for being mean to him.

But for anyone who doesn’t own the social media platform and decide its policies? Supporting free speech has nothing to do with blocking people on social media.

People who make these click bait articles end up benefitting the people they’re taking shots at, because any sensible person knows that supporting free speech is about the government not prosecuting you for saying something, not being able to say anything you want to anyone you want whenever you want with no consequences.

That might have been a worthwhile post if the subject of that article wasn't the owner of a notorious troll account on twitter. It's jumped the shark too many times to be parody.
