GB News

or to give it it's original name - corruption - paying a politician to lobby

It was the plan all along. Ofcom should have it's powers increased and be given the ability to cut broadcasts during transmission when it's clear a clear and flagrant breach of impartiality rules is occuring or will occur. Sunak's People's forum didn't need a three month investigation to establish that it wasn't allowed.

Why just let the bastards shit in the river when you can intervene immediately.

They're deliberately breaking the rules in order to weaken and undermine Ofcom. They are media disruptors.

Let's not forget that Johnson wanted Paul Dacre to become chair of Ofcom for the same reasons.

TBH like Talk TV they will welcome a move onto YT to be beyond Ofcom's reach

There may be a time that happens but I don't see them as analogous to Talk TV. They aren't there to influence policy or public opinion like Murdoch's empire did.

The point of being a disruptor isn't just to operate within the grey areas, it's to make the grey areas expand further and further.

GB news is the point of the lance, behind that is an army of right wing rabble waiting for a new world with an impotent Ofcom and free rein to tell lies, daze and confuse the public and create more useful idiots willing to vote against their own interests. GB News was only ever compère, not the main act.
