GB News

Yes, clearly designed to latch onto the existential crisis that currently exists around notions of Britishness/Englishness/UK/Europe. Populist stuff is by definition popular, but not necessarily long lived - look at Farage since he lost his cause celebre by winning - the last thing any single issue populist ever actually wants.
The most interesting dynamic will be how hard they go in on Boris, if at all.

Other than that, they’ll rotate between the vox pops of the day.

I've always thought that Boris will survive long enough to absorb the damage (blame) for any covid / brexit fallout before the tories unveil a new leader untainted by either - not many of those. I'm sure any friends in the press will assist. This is why at the first sign of either brexit turning out ok or the vaccine doing the trick I think Boris will go for a snap GE to cement his position. Not sure where GB news will sit - Neil is in the Paxman / Bernard Manning mould of being a **** to everyone, and financially the channel is now not beholden to the usual Murdoch-centric media influence. As you say - vox pops of the day probably.

As good a theory as any, although Boris might be too lazy to be arsed with an election.

Whoever is PM at the time will do something that annoys the angry Twitter/GBN mobs. GBN could ultimately split the right vote and allow Labour back in down the line.

Having said all this, how long can they churn out the same programmes 24/7 for? Probably forever quoting whomever posted something they don’t agree with on Twitter.

trick is to not "win". There's enough bogeymen around in our culture to froth up the core voter base.

looking at how Starmer has put his foot in his mouth again, Labour's voter base will be miniscule come the next election.
He's doing a grand job for the establishment.

It will be interesting which politicians go on it. Neil has a reputation for going in with both feet, if others have the same attitude how long before the Tories do a blanket ban as they have with Channel 4?
