I'm glad you posted that, I was a bit slack in my previous search about viewing figures and it makes sense that more people would watch a specific news bulletin rather than be glued to 24 hour rolling news which really can only be useful when there is a big story breaking although even then the desperation to spin out unfolding events with the classic question to our (insert specialist correspondent here) of "what more do we know" is telling.Just checking. You do realise that the comparative figures are for "news channels"? 15 million watch terrestrial BBC1 TV news.

It's inevitable that a 24 hours news channel won't be focussed solely on the news and the BBC for example has travel segments, "IT" and other bits and bobs.
My main exposure to 24 hour channels is in train stations, airports, my local pharmacy and my barbers (sky sports), beyond that I'm not sure who they are really supposed to appeal to. Would be interesting to know the average tune in time of your average 24 hour news viewer and how GBnews stacks up against that. Would also be interesting to know the respective demographics.
