GB News

"Not for the left..But the left out..."

If Neil proves me wrongs it's not the Gammon News Network I'll put my hands up.

Well the social media pages seems to suggest its full on anti migrants, anti EU, Anti Meghan etc etc.

there’s going to be a lot of disappointed Gammons if it isn’t so.

and if it hasn’t got a extreme right wing agenda. Then what’s the point ?

hope it fails spectacularly

It's a bit weird the hype they're pushing for this. BBC Breakfast continued to beat ITV's Americanized GMB show despite being accused of dying for the best part of a decade and Piers Morgan doing everything he could do get any publicity and viral moments. Why? Because it's precisely because the BBC show is dry and boring that made it good background viewing.

That's the wider issue I take with GB News if you were to ignore their politics for a moment. If I want to watch entertainment the last thing I'd do is look for TV news. I'll watch for the late night news bulletin when I finish work, sometimes I like the late night papers show Clive Myrie does on BBC news but generally speaking the only time I consume TV news is at work when BBC is on in the background.

Who the hell has the time and desire to religiously sit through hours upon hours of a tabloid news channel?

I wonder if they are going to mirror the lbc radio model? - A balance of lw/liberal with rw. actually very listenable and a couple of hours of the mail/express personified at breakfast with Nick Ferrari is well offset by O'Brien and Foggarty afterwards before Mair (pretty neutral I think) and Dale (fluffy rw) at night.
So far GB news seems to be fox with a token lw representation though as far as I can tell.

I did wonder that myself. I would like to be surprised if their output heads that way.

"The woke hour" might be a cheeky bit of pre launch trolling by Neil.

Every time I see Andrew Neil his hair always reminds me of Peter Swales and Arthur Scargill, that makes a trio of shredded wheat headed twats.

Murdoch - a good judge of these things - thinks there is no money in it........with the failings of populism maybe GeeBeeBee's news will need to be subsidised by backers......depends how long a haul they are in for...
