gelson fernandes. one of the worst players to wear a...

Gelson is a good player who if left to learn from the bigger stars he will soon have around him will become a very good footballer. Already has the willingness, he needs to learn some of the guile and craft of a top player so he doesnt get caught out of position . nowhere near the worst by a mile. That was a strange post. We do need to give some of our younger players a chance, this thread is like some i seen on here last season saying stevie ireland was a waste of space and a pile of s***e. Lesson to be learned.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

I'm gonna fuck your wife you fucking linesman.

Call me delusional but I actually see a fair bit of potential in young Gelson. If anything, his effort and workrate are the two things that he needs to curb a bit in order to progress. He definitely needs to add more composure to his game, but when he does I think he could be capable of good things - maybe not at the level City want to be at, but certainly at the level we find ourselves currently at.

I think gelson is pretty poor as a player - he is like a cheap ronaldo.

He has all Ronaldos traits but unfortunately he has no end product.

He runs onto the field like a highly strung show pony and looks the business.

But as soon as he gets the ball he cant wait to get rid of it - and dosent care who he passes it to.....................

He does normally find another City player to the side of him or behind him but very rarely plays the ball forward and quite often panics and plays it to the opposition.

I can't see him featuring in future plans because he delivers very little and he's had enough time to make his mark

At COMS I am not bothered if his name is not announced in the starting line up but if it is I prick up my ears as i want to know who is not starting - enough said - get rid...........

Gelson and Ronaldo? A bizarre comparison if there ever was one.

The comparison is about the way they both love themselves - nothing to do with footballing ability or positional play

I wish it was haha - still say get rid - he's shit

Dont make me laugh. This topic is disgusting.
Las year most of you were saying Ireland is shit and Gelson is class. Why the switch of opinions. A player does not turn bad overnight. He is a good young player and has potential to be a decent player. Alright he is no Vieira but he is a good player in his own right. To say he is the worst we have had at the club is laughable. What about Frontzeck, Corradi, Samaras etc. Compared to them guys Gelson is world class.
Everytime he pulls on a City shirt he gives us his all and to criticise him is harsh. Towards the back end of last season he was one of the only players that came to the fore, took responsibility and played very well. Example being the game against Arsenal.
Unfair to criticise him Hughes has not give him a chance this season.

i repeat... me saying he is one of the worse players to wear the shirt was an over reaction. but are we finally agreed that he is shit????

No we're not agreed, you can agree all you want with yourself, but me I'll have my own opinion thanks.

I love it when someone starts a controversial topic, and then moans because not everyone agree's with them, and worse then ignores the responses they have asked for, claiming they're not relevant, and continues to ask for the same answer, despite having been given it (so don't ask me with a quote, just read up the answers are there).

....city shirt. don't know why i've suddenly decided to post this but i just don't get this guy. he's shite. if one person can come up with a plus point with the bloke i'll be amazed.

and effort doesn'y count. if you put a shirt on me you'd get effort.

go....

Go back to playing your playstation, worst player ever? Go away an catch you're self on will ya!!

Some of these players are terrible, not only do they lack basic skills they have absolutely no confidence whatsover.
In a way I do feel a tad bit sorry for Hughes even though I don't think he is upto the job that the Arabs want doing.
I honestly have seen better Sunday league performances than Gelson, TBH, Jo and Vass have put in this season and Hughes can't play for them so what does he do?

Outstanding! Some supposed 'blues' on here beggar belief. OK, so Gelson is probably not gonna set the world alight, but he's still a city player.
Maybe its just me, but when a footballer pulls on the sky blue jersey and heads onto the pitch, I like to SUPPORT them, regardless of visible talent.
I could reiterate the previously mentioned positives regarding youth, energy, commitment etc, but what would be the point? Some minds are too closed and narrow.
And marcus, you say you've been following City since 1979. That would put you within a year or two of me. Do you remember what it was actually like to SUPPORT your team?? Cos it never left me!
I even cheered when Pearce was at the helm and we couldn't score for toffee.
Keep the faith lad and get behind YOUR team.
There's plenty of players to have a dig at in the football league. You don't have to start with your own.

Of course we all support the team, and the Club but it does not bar us of having an opinion on the players that play for us, the fans and the Club, and he is fooking shite (in some peoples opinion).
