He's nowhere near to being one of the worst players to play for City, that's just stupid.

That said I don't think Gelson is currently good enough to be in the side and I don't see him improving to a level where he would ever be a regular starter. It's a shame as he has a good attitude and seems to like it at City.

There isn't one player in this City squad who would count as one of the worst ever. I know it was an overreaction but it's something levelled at other players at the moment.

marcus, I know this isnt a response to your question, but who on the books at the mo would you play in his place in the games hes played. We desperate for someone with an engine in the midfield to protect the defence at bit, and to be fair he aint done a great job - but who instead?

5- high fitness levels
6- rarley loses the midfield runners when tracking them back

all contribute to a good holding mid-fielder in the making

Not the worst, but I don't like seeing his name on the team sheet. There's something puzzling about him to me, his presence on the pitch frequently seems to take something away from the standard of play of both sides.

if i am not mistaken, erikkson signed him as 'one for the future', but decided to put him in the team earlier than anticipated. cant remember if this was though an injury to someone else or through something he did in training.

anyway, i feel hes far too lightweight to be a holding midfield player for a premier league team aiming to be in the top four. he hardly ever shoots even when in the position to do so (like vassell and ireland last year), his passing is negative and i think he bottles 50-50 challenges.

also as MH says, we need leaders in this team, and im imagining he aint one.
