Gene Hackman RIP

Big shit show kicking off among the families now as to which one died first.
Makes a big difference to who inherits.
That’ll soak up millions in the courts.
I was only half listening to the radio a while ago and they mentioned something about rodent droppings being involved somehow in his wife's death.

Yes he was :)

Watched that film over and over as a kid. Three bits always stuck out - everyone trying to climb the Xmas tree when it was too late and dying, Shelley winters (iirc) drowning/heart attack in the tunnel swim near the end, and Gene Hackman saving them all at the very end by hanging onto the little wheel to turn it knowing he had nowhere to go but fall to his death. Ahhh yes see that's what a childhood born in 1974 gets you - 3 channel tv and parents into disaster films!!!!

Wait? That was Gene? As I said I’ve watched it loads as a kid and yes remember Shelley and her heart attack and also Telly Savalis opening the hatch at the end but never knew it was Hackman sacrificing himself at the wheel.
Will have to watch it for the first time in like 40 odd years

They should have added French Connection 2 as well. Virgin box is set to record them.
