The only positive from this is that Corbyn will be gone sooner now, and Labour can start to rebuild.
That will also be a huge positive, but May has made it impossible to remove him before the election, so they need to think how to avoid suffering an extinction level defeat in England to UKIP. Corbyn is a disaster all round for this country, no matter which party you support, he has removed any effective opposition there was, even with this tiny majority, and the country badly badly needs one, so the sooner he, and some of the others are out the better.

To go with Sturgeon probably having less seats than she currently does at Westminster (she can surely only lose parliamentary seats given the current position), Labour must win a few back in Scotland, Lib Dems too, and I expect the Tories might also gain a couple, and then there is UKIP who could take one or two.

Rather wee Jimmy as you put it than a bunch of self serving Tory cunts any day of the week.

The rest of the U.K. if it voted a Tory landslide seals the fate of every party up here saying staying together will be better.

How can being governed by a detested party forever be better?

That will be the choice and if we shite it then we deserve everything that servile attitude warrants.

What do you think will be the selection of the 40% of people in Scotland that supported Brexit?

Could some seats be lost by the SNP to the Tories or will the loyalty to the SNP overrule?

Such a shame that Corbyn is currently Labour leader. Would she have dared to go down this route if Labour had someone credible to take her on? She knows she will win comfortably purely on the basis that Corbyn is a useless tit and when she does, she will claim that it is a ringing endorsement of her plans for a hard Brexit whereas all it will really show is that the country won't vote for Corbyn.
I agree but abit like football, you can only beat what's in front of you.

SNP could lose a few but unlikely it would be to the tories, Lib Dem and Labour more likely, wouldn't expect the Tories to add more than 1 possibly 2 to their one now.

The power to push through her ill thought out ideological policies.

This is just a grab for power, to tighten her grip on her own party not just to increase her majority, she's a control freak

Well if the electorate dont like her plan she wont get in. Thats democracy for you.

They will bribe leavers with a free haggis dinner and a wee dram

Does this mean we will have to put up with seeing that twat Tim Farrons face every day for the next 7 weeks? I could never tire of punching him, c***

There will be a large swing to the Lib Dems in this one from both Labour and Tories. Labour voters don't want Corbyn and pro Europe Tory voters will still be pissed off with their party for what has happened. UKIP wont win any seats. Who the fuck would vote for those clowns.

Big win for the Tories though. Clever move by her.

Haven't read the rest of the thread ( yet) but this is all about May neutralizing the extreme Remainers AND more importantly the extreme Brexiters in her party.
In other words it's all about the Tory party.
While I hate them with a passion you have to recognize the sheer and utter ruthlessness of the Tories in their ability to hold on to power.

When you look at the state of the opposition, it's hardly a difficult task is it?

No chance of an extinction happening
There are so many safe Labour constituencies that no matter who the candidate or the leader of the Party, they will always remain Labour seats

It's something like 20% of constituencies where everything is decided and Labour will win very few, if any of those

I am going to vote Tory out of necessity, for the first and hopefully last time in my life.

Hopefully this will be the kick up the arse Labour needs to clear out the far left loons infesting the party, because fuck me do we need a credible opposition.

I was thinking of doing the same but cant bring myself to do it. Whatever the Torys do in the years following the election i would feel i played a part in it, dont want that hanging over me!
Il be voting, but fuck knows who for at the minute

Calling an election eh, after dismissing one so recently. The previous election scandal must be nearing its conclusions.

Not at my time of life mate.
But great news, done to neutralize the right wing loony Brexiters in her party, makes a soft Brexit all the more likely.
Media pundits and markets agree.
Me neither, very few and far between nowadays lol

ah. So you mean an election to get a mandate from the electorate. If they vote for her.

38% actually.

The Tories will lose their sole seat. Labour might win back a couple of the 41 they lost but still a rout.

Labour have never recovered from collaboration with the Tories during project fear and they never will.
