I posted this in the Brexit thread...

I suppose the only thing that might be positive about this shabby opportunism, is that May (hopefully) will be forced to outline where the fuck she's going with Brexit. As she has just stated in front of No 10 she wants a ringing endorsement to do whatever it is she's about to do, then an election might just tease out what the fuck that is.

The woman can certainly lie to camera, citing as the prime mover behind this snap election a divided Parliament against a unified country, what a duplicitous shit! When what she really meant was that she has a divided government and an election victory will strengthen her hand against the likes of Fox, Davis, Redwood, Cash, Duncan Smith et all.

Though that might be a misreading of her intentions, perhaps she'll use this election to resurrect a Red, White and Blue Brexit, no deal better than a bad deal. The concessions she has had to make so far were all in response to the hard reality of her weak bargaining position, she knows and anyone following the Brexit process knows, that no "good deal" is going to emerge from Brussels, so maybe she wants an endorsement to hard Brexit and blame the shit storm on the perfidious Europeans.
Shabby opportunism? Maybe. But I would hazard a guess that if Labour were in a similar position (they wish), they'd do exactly the same thing. It's politics. You don't go to the country when you're weak, unless your term is up. You go when you're riding high, and the opposition are weak.

if i was labour i would form a coalition with the other party's and take on the britex vote and once your in at number 10 do what the tory c*nts will do and change the manifesto

Generally folk reading too much into this. May and the Tories have just taken advice and polls into account and decided now is the time to grab the biggest majority before brexit risks becoming toxic to the sitting govt.
Farron, corbyn, and that Scottish woman have all been caught with their pants down and their parties in no shape to deny the Tory twats a bigger majority.

How has Corbyn been caught with his pants down he said back in December if they wanted a snap election, he would support it. That's 4 months ago when May was lying about not having one. He was spot on, when a tory opens their lips, expect the opposite.

How do you suggest the SNP deny the Tories a bigger majority - by winning one extra seat?

Really can't believe some folk here are actually going to vote Tory because they don't like Corbyn. How fickle is that? Wouldn't surprise me if you were also once United fans before you started supporting us a few years back.
Haha. You think following politics is like following a football team?

That's fucking brilliant.

@Damocles will enjoy this.

Labour are in for a bashing. I'm a Labour supporter but not a Corbyn voter.

Just when things quiet down in this country up pops this to divide us all once again :/

Well, you can all safely vote Labour knowing that Corbyn won't be PM. I'm really not sure how this will make Parliament any less awkward - all we'll get is more Tory MPs divided amongst themselves, so a bigger majority to split over what sort of Brexit, and why grammar schools are a stupid idea. (Any Tory voter with a child who isn't one of the one in ten who'll pass the 11 plus, think now who to vote for.)

Can't wait to see Jezza on the campaign trail, gonna be like a car crash in slow motion.

Great just what we need. Friends, Family and neighbours being at each others throats once again.

I thought he gave up fucking Abbott about 15 yrs ago.

I'm starting the pre-election rumours. Can you imagine the Children.....
