General transfer rumours

Mahrez must be the 2nd biggest star in the Arab world after Salah, right? If he does agree to a Saudi move (and who can blame him? Their pay cheque is going to have more zeros than one can count I suppose), I hope City demand a fee as high we originally paid to get him. Now that may be a little far-fetched, but I do hope we receive a hefty sum to make it worthwhile. Good right wingers are hard to come by nowadays.

Understand Arsenal will lodge a new bid for Moises Caicedo, similar to the £75m package rejected in January. #AFC

Brighton’s stance has changed since the winter. They were 100% no sale but are now open to negotiations. #BHAFC

As much as Brighton have coped fantastically well so far selling players, history tells us you cant keep selling your best and expect to improve or even stay the same. Sooner rather than later it`s going to have a negative impact on the teams performance and standing.

100% , Southampton were the same back in the day and have suffered accordingly.

PS I would add City to that, we lost an incredible amount of Talent in the mid 70s and 80s, the likes of Barnes, Owen, Caton, Wilson , Flitcroft etc.

I’m under the impression that hes actually bigger in most of Africa and the Arab world after his Leicester and Algeria triumphs

yup, i was thinking exactly that yearlier today, leicester and southampton are prime examples of that

Never sell your best players if you don't need finances
Yeah, let's never allow top players to express their desire to change scenery and move on, but imprison them for life.

Do you think Brighton is one of the worst kind of employers?

Right, but City has the tradition of not standing in the players' way when they decide to leave, which I find admirable. Look at how Levy treats Kane and you will see why no aspiring real stars want to join Spurs.

A rather bad business model, imo, as it would lead to stagnations and loss of profits. As long as a club can replace them with better/adequate personnel, any shrewd operators should be able to steady the ship and manage very well.

You highlighted examples using our case and that of Spurs.
