General transfer rumours

Arsenal have spent >£350m over last 3 seasons
Add Caicedo for £70m or so if that happens and thats huge money.
Inevitable to eventually get it right with good coaching.
Outspent us and caught us up , like United and the biffa bacons, Chelsea next year will be a contender and if Liverpool get Bellingham, they won’t be far away. Looks like our oil well has stopped pumping

One thing everyone forgets is they look like stars in Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal because they're playing against garbage teams.

When they get to the PL where there's actual competition, they look like Higuain, Werner, Morata and others.

Lots of stars that weren't actually stars!

You have to spend correctly too.. the rags have outspent us over the last decade, look at them before and after Casemiro.

And as for Arsenal, they bought kids on the cheap rather than stars and have gone through the growing pains of 3 years developing them under Arteta.

Remember last year, when everyone wanted him sacked?

Szoboszlai is one talented footballer. Plays with so much freedom. Watching Leipzig’s DFB game this evening (almost done now) and he’s got great vision. When I imagine him in a City team, not sure where’d I’d put him. He’s one who has a free role further up the pitch like Nkunku

Anyone think Lavia this summer for £40 mil is a viable option? Great physical presence coupled with high intelligence and familiarity with our style/project. Can pick a pass and has excellent pace, also has a great mentality X work ethic. As he’s shown at Southampton he’s premier league ready too
I hope so,

West Ham have always been keen Phillips and Rice is off in the summer.

Get 30 Million back for Phillips, spend 40M on Lavia and we basically break even on this sorry story

Been seeing people saying leao will be £100m even though he has a year left on his deal I think £60m max and that’s pushing it
Agree and the sort of deal we will walk away from if they want 100. Apparently we only offered 20 for Maddison can see us being very strict with our budget, like Cuc

I think we only go for the players if they actually are a massive talent like bellingham, not saying leao isn’t but we sold sterling for 40m when he had a year left why should we pay extra for him

One year left offer the Italians their usual offering for loan with an option to buy! They will crumble if we can tap him up. They would even take 20/30 million rather than lose him on a free. We just gotta show we are not desperately on our knees for him which we may be with the need for a rebuild in the summer.

Policy of selling unhappy players without having a replacement is comical. I'm all for letting these players go if they want, but have something lined up. More often than not, we don't have anything and just rely on Pep to engineer something.

I also hate that we don't look to short term fixes either. Should've signed a random semi decent left-back on a six month loan and binned them off when you can get your desired target. Instead we're relying on injury-susceptible central defenders and a literal child at fullback.

In cases like Cancelo, simply getting rid of the player is more valuable than the replacement.

Nobody knows what we did or didn't do to replace Cancelo. I highly doubt that Txiki didn't have anything to offer. Pep doesn't want a "semi-decent" player either, we have proven on more than one occasion we will wait for the right option.

We are in a battle now, Pep wants a core group of players who have the grit for a title fight.

Has the Nkunku to Chelsea deal ever been finalised? I just can't see them keep spending and wonder if he's back on the market?
