It's a waiting game for Fulham after offering a three year contract to Marco Silva in November. He remains on Chelsea's shortlist and didn't rule out a move back to Portuguese giants Benfica when asked. The Cottagers have been in this position before.

Yesterday evening saw that Silva had been linked to Forest. He has worked with Maranakis before. Is it step up from Fulham not sure but he would have an owner who is prepared to back him. Edu has been sacked but yet to be formally announced so Silva might be able to pick his own technical director if has worked with one before. Might be harsh on Vitor but he might have been offered a position at one of Maranakis other clubs as a sweetner

You are right on this, why invest a fortune on wages on a player who I've never been convinced about. All hype because he has played for a team who have tried to trade off being the only united and only scored double figures once in last 6 seasons typical spursy signing.

Marco Silva as manager and Bernardo Silva as player would be an interesting proposition for Benfica.

More reports linking Marco with Forest as it appears he wants to stay in the prem. I know larger club Chelsea are interested but sometimes it's better the devil you know as previously worked under Maranakis

What's wrong with Pereira, isn't he contracted until June 2027? Silva did follow Pereira at Olympiakos and only lasted 1 season.

Nothing wrong with Vitor but some people are saying there might be a break clause in his contract.Forest were interested in Silva prior to Dyche and were not prepared to pay Fulham 14m in compensation Silva left Olympiacos for personal reasons after guiding them to the league and Maranakis regards him highly.
 
Didn't united pay over £70m for him?

Rasmus Hojlund's permanent transfer to Napoli has been triggered by their Champions League qualification. Manchester United to receive €44m (£38m), in addition to previous loan fee. A move that has worked for all parties. With @mjcritchley @TheAthleticFC

If one includes add ons, yes, though presumably they were not triggered. Irrespective, it’s ludicrous that a player came move within Europe for €17 million and then within the same calendar year move to that lot for £64 million. Ludicrous verging on the queer.

Marmoush was signed by Eintracht on a free transfer and 18 months later we paid about £60m for him.
You are right though. It was a massive gamble by united.
I suppose the only thing is that it doesnt affect PSR that much but it is still not good economics.
That amortisation is a strange tool

Marmoush left Wolfsburg after his contract ended if I recall correctly, and we signed him after hitting a purple patch, which, ignoring the cost, was arguably a shrewd move given that his goals/play helped us in the latter part of the season. Some deals make far less sense, however, and Hojlund is a case par exemple.
