General UFC thread

I cannot believe what I have just witnessed. The first punch he threw, out cold.

Fair play Mcgregor proved me wrong, loved when he jumped on top of the cage and was pulling the middle finger at Aldo's team hahahahahaha.

Hope there's a rematch so we get to see more of a fight between the two. All those months of training and it comes down to one precise hook on the jaw, unreal.

That was extremely reckless by Aldo, big mistake he made there. Mcgregors stand up game Is so ridiculously good the only way you can beat him is on the ground I think.

Also I think Aldo was way too nervous and the pressure really got to him. He just wanted the fight over fast that's why he rushed in and got caught. McGregor reminds me of Bradd Pitt from Snatch haha!

Unbelievable scenes. Love McGregor, been following him for a long time. Hopefully that shuts up the fuckers who thinks he just talks shit and doesn't deliver.
I don't quite understand the dislike people have towards him. I find him entertaining. He's certainly good to watch.

He's a bit of a lad isn't he!

Me either, he's brought so much to UFC in the last couple of years. A few of my mates weren't big UFC supporters, and because of McGregor they're now well into it.

Aldo had been so cool and calm in the build up and then goes and does something as rash as lunge in like that in the first few seconds. Was bad from him but that punch though!

Everybody loves a fighter who can predict the way he beats his rival McGregor said he cant see Aldo coming out for the second round boy was he right he has said he wants to move up a division too and I wouldnt blame him for doing it. Aldo was poor rushing in like that. A rematch could happen but i dont think it happens in his next fight think that KO to Aldo will have a long term effect on him. He was out cold as soon as it landed. I hope that McGregor gets his Croke Park fight they could put him in with anyone and the demand would be sky high and would sell out within a hour or so. He deserves all the praise in the world and all the money he gets too. I cant wait to see the reception he gets whenever he comes back to Ireland. Proud to be a Irish man and theres more talent there coming up too. The first of many I hope.

Well!!!!

I ended up watching it on an Italian channel from the co-main event and my Rockhold prediction was correct!

And, although I was wrong about the McG result, it was hardly a fight and nobody NOBODY can legislate for such a clean contact in the first 20 secs!! Who could foresee Aldo being so reckless like others have said?!!

I will also say, my prediction was partially true about McG's stand up! I think if Aldo had got his punch off first, this would be totally different, but he made contact and McG felt it!

Luckily, for McGregor there's not another fighter like Aldo in the division, so he has it pretty much locked!

We'll see after the re-match whether he's a worthy champion or not.

Agree. A proper entertainer, and like he said in the presser, it was over quickly and he backed it up.

Assume he will rematch Aldo before he makes his attempt to go up a weight class?

Dislike of McGregor is understandable. I had a certain apathy towards him until I watched the current series of TUF.

He didn't bullsh*t his charges. He told them straight from the off about what they were there for and they listened to him.

And, more impressively, 90% of his fight analysis was spot on!

Most interestingly, he was the best coach I've ever seen of that show!

Watching it, made me warm to him.
