Not sure about the wisdom of analysing the Mendes ground game in this fight. Other than a take down or two (which he SHOULD be doing as it's his forté), all he did was explode into a ground and pound, which wasn't consistent. I thought he would push the envelope there, but he didn't, probably due to being gassed. Had the energy for take downs, so a bit weird there...
Aldo has what Mendes has, but waay more rounded out. Isn't he a Black Belt in BJJ, but chooses to punch and kick the fook out of people, in preference...?
If what we saw in the Mendes fight, is McGregor's training, in part for Aldo, I would be seriously worried for McGregor's chances in the actual fight.
