General UFC thread

Thought that was a brilliant fight, 2 proper fighters going for it. Correct result in the end, although i'm not sure how McGregor survived that onslaught at the end of the 3rd.

Thought diaz won but can understand why they gave it to McGregor. Round two the last minute diaz was just unloading, think that made up for the knockdowns. Just don't like seeing a fighter running away getting a decision. The blood around his eye really cost him in the end. Congrats to Connor but seeing him talk that disrespectful crap after the fight is the reason I'm not a fan.

Just re watched the fight as I always do, damn that was so so close. Round 2 was the one that swung it i guess, easier to give to Conor than it was to Nate because of the two knockdowns so can't really complain about the decision. That round could've easily been a draw though.

Only way Connor was going to win that fight was if it went to points so Dana White could sort fight 3. Diaz is tougher and better then mcgregor, and overall I thought Diaz won the fight....especially with all of Connors running away.

Diaz brothers don't conform to what ufc want which is why, despite them both being incredible fighters, they haven't had the publicity or success that the cash cow showman Connor has.

I thought Diaz won it also, 2nd 3rd and 5th round to him, 1 and 4 mcgregor. Will be a 3rd fight for sure, generate a lot of money. If Diaz won there wouldn't be a 3rd fight

Thought Diaz edged it but not by so much that it's controversial and that Conor won means fight 3 i'm all for that decision.

Anthony Johnson's power though, Teixeria hadn't been stopped since his first pro fight in 2002. Johnson vs Cormier 2 should be good, Johnson has lost 5 times, 4 times via read naked choke aha, if Cormier can get out of the first round he'll win again

LOL you lot think Diaz won? Come on, it was a close fight but never in a million years did Diaz win. Conor went away and addressed everything that he did wrong in the first fight and corrected it, his second wind was phenomenal.

One thing that you have to admire McGregor for is he makes no excuses... He admitted the first fight he lost fair and square simply wasn't up to the task and ran out of energy in a short space of time. Nates post fight interview he made every excuse under the sun my rib this I couldn't do this etc load of bollocks just admit Conor gave you a serious fight and floored you numerous times. They will fight again down the line but I think McGregor will go back down and demolish Aldo again. Let's not forget the size difference in the two fighters last night Nate was significantly heavier. When all said and done it was a fantastic advert for the sport.

A great fight, really enjoyed it - second only to Lawler/Condit in recent memory IMO.

Have to laugh at all the conspiracy theorists, can't you just enjoy good sport for what it is?!

Why do the crowd boo that Cormier fella, in an interview he seemed very humble and decent, unless i have the wrong dude.
You seem to know your onions so hoping you know :-)

I might be wrong, but I think it's just because the fans like a bad boy and DC's main rival for so long has been Jon bones Jones, who is a bad dude (suspended for positive drugs test right now).

Gotcha, i like the bloke personally, americans love that black and white clear as day good guy bad guy thing though don't they.

Dana doesn't pick the judges. The Nevada State Athletic commission does. Any talk of fixing or setting things up for a 3rd fight is ridiculous.

Thought Connor won rounds 1, 2 and 4. He had more significant strikes too.

Few people give him credit for going up 25lbs to face someone much bigger.

Great contest.
