General Videogame Thread

In case you didn't know.

It's a fucking piss take. Was originally free then it was 30 quid then 35 then 40 now it's fucking 50. Thing is they know they have you over a barrel cos most games require PS Plus to play them online so you don't have a choice. You either bend over and take it or you don't get to play online. Sony can fucking do one.

Considering it was on offer recently too for £29.99 in the PS Sale in May/June, that is a steep increase. I'd like Sony to give a bit more info about what I can expect for the extra tenner per year, more say in PS Plus game choices, for example?

Still a good deal for the two games per month on PS4, but why 25%, where does that come from? A bigger increase for yearly subscribers than occasional subscribers? Have Sony employed Diane Abbott recently or something?
The majority of monthly offerings are shite.

It's all about opinions and different tastes. For you, sure maybe the games are not what you want. But I certainly have not been disappointed by most months and am willing to take a chance on a title I have nor seen before.

For me, I feel I have received more that enough to justify paying out, and I've only been a member for just over half a year, and been introduced to gems that I would have never have thought to try otherwise. I always make a point to add stuff to my library even if I haven't heard of it before once is it offered on PS plus.

Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle - remasters of point and click classics from yesteryear and easy plats too

Deadly Tower of Monsters - platformer and shooter paying homage to b movies and nice vertical mechanics

Until Dawn - hugely underrated horror game

Everybody's Gone to the Rapture - was put off as it was described as a walking simulator, but my god is it beautiful, and the story quite haunting also.

Tales from the Borderlands - best of the telltale games imo, or at least on a par with walking dead season one.

Colour Guardians - Great fun and perfect for kids too.

Life is strange - one of the best stories in a game I have ever had the pleasure of playing.

Stories path of destiny - Decent action RPG with ten's of endings, the more endings you uncover the more the game tells you about the characters and the events going on

Sure, that's only maybe a fifth of all the free games received in that period, and as you can probably tell I'm no FPS fan so killing floor 2 etc don't interest me at all, but still goes some way to justifying the forty quid or so that I paid.

OK, with giving us just cause 3 and assassins creed both next month sony are obviously looking to soften the blow, but still value for money for me personally.

It's just the size of the increase I query, specifically why the incease is bigger for year subscribers. But I have plus until 2019 anyway thanks to some deals that came up recently, so a delayed hit for me personally.

I sacked PS+ because I hardly played online, and apart from Journey, the free monthly games were crud.

Trouble is...I've now found rocket league.

How much is Xbox live these days? Also has anyone got Elite Dangerous, just managed to setup my PS4 after house move and I'm itching to play something again, this seems a good game.
