General Videogame Thread

Started playing Miles Morales on the PS5, Fidelity graphics mode looks really nice but the 30fps causes more issues and affects your enjoyment IMO. I ended up going for the Performance RT version which is a mixture of Fidelity and performance mode, much better.

I honestly preferred fidelity mode! Felt like I was playing a film and I much preferred that. More immersive for me. Though admittedly the Performance RT mode didn't exist whenI played it. Think that's the newest one tehy've added.

It's a nice mixture of both, although i went back to Fidelity mode just to revel in those beautiful snowy scenes where you're slinging through NYC.

It's well worth keeping an eye on games with free ps5 upgrades.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla for example is £30 on Amazon for a PS4 copy now, down from £50 at launch, and has a free ps5 digital upgrade, yet the ps5 disc version is still £45. But beware with AC games that a complete edition with the DLC will come out too in 1-2 years, and the base game cost will drop as a result.

Mortal Kombat 11 was another one, if you can bag a PS4 copy then you get a free upgrade and PS4 discs were going for around £15 last week. You do need the PS4 disc in the ps5 console though I believe, so only useful for the disc PS5 version.

Also, anyone who has PS plus should add the free PS5 games to their library every month even if you don't have a PS5, because if you do ever get one, and keep your ps plus subscription up, then you have a load of games to access from the start.

The situation for PS5 consoles should also start to ease in the next few weeks. Argos and Game had big shipments in today, others following and now is the time that scalpers risk being left with additional consoles if they buy up more.

I imagine by summer you'll be able to get off the shelf easily, possibly sooner.
