General Videogame Thread

Have you tried it on your ps5 yet mate? I tried giving it a go last night after the patch. It's better but I still don't think the textures/graphics look good enough. I was driving along and textures were still popping in and out, NPCs disappearing through walls etc.

I'm on the series X and I'm even tempted to request a refund. I can see the game will be fantastic, but it's a way off being at that level yet.

Nah not bought it. Holding off as I reckon i'll love it one day...just not any time soon!

I purchased a key from that CDKEY site for Wolfenstein new order for £2.60 yesterday and put the key into steam and it registered and had a blast killing Zombie Nazis last night before shitting the bed and getting murdered loads of times.

Well, if anyone isn't happy with CP77, they've released a statement apologising and will be issuing refunds for previous gen PS4/Xbox users.

Years of hype results in them giving refunds. What a shambles. Game developers need to have a serious look at themselves, many studios are releasing broken games at launch and it takes months for them to be rectified. They shouldn’t be releasing trailers seven years from release then turning out to be a broken mess. It seems most studios now let their customers be the play testers, it’s bullshit.

The wording doesn't fill me with much hope of a refund.

"For boxed versions, please first try to get a refund at the store where you bought the game. Should this not be possible, please contact us at helpmerefund@cdprojektred.com and we will do our best to help you.”

Just says they will do their best to help, not that they will actually refund you. I've sent them an email so I'll see what happens.

Probably easier to just send it to CEX for £36 but that feels a little bit like CDPR are getting away with it.
Has to be done by the 21st of December as well, so if it's a christmas present, you're fucked. If you can't "first try taking it to the retailer" in time, you're fucked. This is a piss poor attempt at pretending to give a refund while making it as hard as possible for people to actually do it.

Yet still all the little fanboys are defending them in the thread, blaming the community for "forcing" them to release it too early

Put Cyberpunk on the backburner for a bit and downloaded Control off Gamepass. Couple of hours in and I'm hooked.

I mean why wouldn't they. Most of their customers are complete morons who will pre-order after countless games being either not what was advertised (no man's sky) or buggy as fuck (almost every open world game).

I don't understand for single player games why people can't even wait a day to see if either of the above issues plague the game they want to buy.

For years I have only ever bough single players games 1-2 years after release when you have the 'ultimate edition' with everything fixed and all DLC for half the price.

I will do the same with cyberpunk and probably thoroughly enjoy it just as I did with Witcher 3.

Just finished God of War (2018) on PS5 and it's one of the best games I have played. I am glad I switched from Xbox to Sony. Tons of exclusive games to play.

Just spent a couple of hours on CP77 on the Series X.
I'm hoping it's a grower as up to now, it's alright but not immediately like I found RDR2.
Even in the X I've changed the settings so it doesn't slow down & stutter when there's more than 5 or 6 on screen NPCs.
A few bugs I've come across but none really ruin the game.
It does look good though.

Anyone played Witcher 3? Is t good? I haven't played any of the Witcher games. Can I just start with Witcher 3?

My all time favourite. If you enjoyed God Of War I am pretty certain you'll enjoy Witcher 3. I'd recommend the DLC's too as they're just as good. Combat isn't anything special and some have called it clunky in the past, but the story and the game visually are spectacular.
