General Videogame Thread

Me too mate, was some of the most fun i've had on mw2 tbh. There was an assumption that zombies would just be in the DMZ world but it looks like Zombies won't have any PvP in it, just an open world with zombies and teams but you can't kill the other players. A bit weird tbh.
I actually think as a concept DMZ has so much more potential than Warzone. I’m not brilliant at it at all and Warzone usually entails me sneaking around quiet areas trying not to die.

DMZ was perfect, loads of missions, AI to fight and then the squads / running into other players and battling it out. Shame it won’t be there.

Rockstar's announcement here:

People need to stop buying cod/fifa etc. Until then it'll never change but unfortunately there are millions who literally buy 2 games a year, those 2.
Haven't bought a new copy of FIFA probably since FIFA 13 don't see the point at all the year after it's a few quid and it's 99% the same game. Even now Xbox offer include 23 on EA Access

I've just been watching some of the zombie streams this morning and actually it looks quite fun. Basically DMZ with zombies, missions and big bosses.

Since we're getting made redundant in 6 months the wife is letting me build a new PC ahead of that (mines 9 years old now :( )

I'm currently surrounded by boxes but what's the recommendations for decent games in different genres nowadays?

SO so disappointed in Starfield it hasn't got the playability at all! They should have made it that you can only go so far with the main storyline then you have to do a lot of other mission storylines first before you move on back to the main mission!

Once I did the main mission that took around 100 hours the second time it took me about 8 hours! Poor game!

6/10

I really wanted to love it but the constant loading and fast travelling really ruins the flow of the game. The majority of it is spent in the menus, and the characters themselves are so unimaginative. They would have benefitted having less planets/systems but mot actual depth and character

Or you can't move of one planet till you've done like a mini mission that's leads to another planet that has another mission

Blimey, you got no response?

I'd get Gamepass and stick on Flight Sim, Balder's Gate and Forza, for sure.

Cyberpunk 2070 with the DLC is now a polished monster of a game - just a teeny bit short.

Celeste is the rage-inducing precision platformer we all need in our life. A Short Hike is a great little interlude, a lazy feel good adventure with sort of a Mario 3D style world and controls. Elsewise... the Resident Evil remakes are widely loved. 4x / RTS a lot of people like Age Of Empires 4 (gamepass).

Cheers, I've already got some of those on my Steam account now I've got everything sorted. Flight Sim 10, Baldurs Gate I & II, Forza Horizon 4 amongst others (too many truth be told but tending to be old ones :( )

I played Forza 4 last night to see what the new system can do and it was lovely to see the game just put everything on ultra :)

Jumping from an i5 4690K (@4.2Ghz) with a 1050 Ti and 8GB memory to an i5 13400 with a 4060 Ti and 32GB memory was quite an eye opener.

That's the Microsoft Gamepass you're talking about yes? I'll have to check out what's what nowadays.

Yep, Gamepass is pretty cheap for what it offers. The new Flight Sim, the new Baldur's gate, new Forza (not Horizon) just dropped. Loads of other decent ones. First month is 99p so it's a great way to get a work out for a new system.

I have a 4790k, just about to dump that for a 13600k. Had a tough start to the year and told myself it was fine to blow a few quid, the PC gets more use than anything else, and TBH the old system is starting to fall apart.

But I'm still using it - despite having several boxes of components sitting next to me. I haven't half got in a mess.

I need a cheap gen 12 intel to be able to flash the Bios on the new MB, so I bought a G7400 for 60 quid.

Then I bent the pins on the first MB. Oops. Far too late to return it. Got a second MB. Turns out, I seem to have fritzed that G7400. So I can't tell if the 13600k is ok! And I can't return the G7500 until we get some paperwork done, could be weeks. Complicated one.

Should have brought the newer motherboard, but I fancied saving the 50 quid and reasoned the 7400 would fetch most of the 60 quid back. Now I'm nearly 600 quid in the hole, and no closer to a new system.
