Because all purchases in life rely on q certain amount of good faith. A consumer has every right to believe what they are buying actually works and if a company goes out of it's way to hide the fact that it doesn't from you, they have defrauded you. If a game gets glowing reviews plastered everywhere, it's not unreasonable to expect the gxme to work on all the platforms they released it. They know the average consumer isn't wised up to the fact the reviews are all based on deliberately suped up pcs, that's why they did it.

As for your "companies want to make money so of course they will try and rip you off" angle, that's a very naive and simplistic view of business. A companies image and reputation have huge value and this sort of short term cash grab does them huge long term damage.

I personally pretty much never oreorder anything, but anyone who does have every right to not be deliberately deceived aboutwhatthey'llreceive. Your attempt to put the blame on the victims of fraud, rather than the perpetrators, is a bit odd

Especially when a company has been quite happy to revel in their rep as one of the 'good guys'. CDPR always talk about how open and honest they are. They've gone to great lengths to foster a good rep with the gaming community, so people trust them. Maybe that's naive from the buyer's perspective, but it's an honest mistake, and an understandable one too - it doesn't change the fact that they've been stabbed in the back.

No man's sky, Fallout 76 and spore were literally nothing like they were advertised at release. Assassin's creed Unity was broken as fuck and almost unplayable at launch, as I said earlier Warzone has new broken things every 3 weeks.

As someone said earlier, if you buy day 1 these days you are a beta-tester.

They didn't let reviewers play it on console and only let them use specified footage that they provided. They purposely and intentionally hid the truth. People knew there would be bugs, but they still had no idea the game would look like a potato. And that's because CDPR hid it intentionally for years.

Obviously they aren't going to show it running shit on the old consoles as this will cost them sales. This is standard scummy corporate behaviour.

This is what I'm saying, we know they want to make as many sales as possible so will hide all the issues as well as they can. Yet people still trust them to deliver a perfect product, that to me is stupid.

Especially as I have outlined in other posts that games not being as advertised or not running well is a common occurrence. I'm sure you know this working in video game media.

Apologies if it seems like I am defending CD Project Red, I definitely am not. They have released a shorty console port that should have either not been made or delayed another 9 months. But I am not surpirised by their behaviour as we have seen it so many times from EA, Ubisoft, Bethesda etc.

These companies release broken games, fill them with micro transactions (which are certainly not micro!) And then hold back content to sell as DLC. It's a very scummy industry that's why I think you shouldnt trust any of them to release a finished product at release.

Some real classics that can be picked up for peanuts at CEX or on eBay such as the Gran turismo series (racing) metal gear solid 2 & 3 (action / stealth) grand theft auto San Andreas and vice city (open world action) shadow of the colossus (adventure), Resident evil 4 and silent hill 2 (horror). So many games it’s probably worth checking out a top 50 list and seeing what you may be into. Those are just my favourites. I’d love to be discovering those for the first time.

My personal favourite was Grand theft auto Vice city. The 80’s soundtrack, Miami type setting etc made it an all time classic for me.

Cheers. I'll take a look. I have the game packed away doing nothing so why not. I have metal gear solid snake eater and it's probably my favourite game. I think I have the Grand theft Miami as well.

I recently finished South Park stick of truth after buying it for a tenner in February.

I am not a huge fan of South Park and have never really sat down and watched a full episode but I have seen bits and bobs so know most of the characters, but despite all this i thought it was brilliant. Really funny, if slightly immature humour, throughout and the gameplay is remarkable fun.

It's similar to old FInal Fantasy games where you have turn based combat with your party v the enemies and there are various abilities and attacks. All of the attacks are timing based usually when your weapon glows you have to click or press the correct key.

There was enough variety in the combat to keep it interesting and it wasn't a walkover on standard difficulty.

So if anyone has been considering it or likes South park I woul recommend highly!

I had a great time playing both games, second one definitely takes the biscuit and I would recommend trying to grab it in a similar sale if possible.

Ahh I so nearly bought that the other day. It was on offer on Steam. Decided against it as I’m in the early days of Witcher 3 and also got Death Stranding on the go.

Control looks great though, I probably should have bought it at the low price and saved it for a later date :(

It's absolutely superb pal. Been a long time since I've crawled into bed at nearly 1am with work in 5 hours but it's totally gripped me. Surely I shouldn't be doing this at 35 haha

I'm not liking the new helicopters! The bugs and weapons with get sorted in updates them YouTubers like to complain and all that. Not tried rebirth island yet. Just bought the new battlepass.

Played it on PS3, the godfather of the Souls games. You can cheese most of the bosses if you struggle. Great game, amazing atmosphere.

Been trying for weeks to platinum Yakuza Kiwami 2 and have done it all, all the hard bits, all the long tedious bits, all the obscure asian card/dice/domino games, but I will never get the plat because I just am incapable of perfecting the Karaoke. It is unreasonable to expect non-Japanese people to be this good at rhythm games! I can't even get close tbh, I do what I think is really well and still end up nowhere near the total needed.

Sad times. Just going to have to accept it's not possible for me and abandon the plat hunt. It's not worth my sanity

I pretty much don't, I just really want to! I almost always fail, I generally look and see if it's vaguely achievable before even considering it. If I think I can do it and it's a game I'm enjoying, I will gladly do a few extra things, it's like additional challenges for you to aim for. Unfortunately a lot of games set unrealistic or unreasonable demands so it puts you off even trying. (anything with online achievements, or large amounts of collectables is an instant no from me)

Bit of a tangent, but collectables are the worst thing to happen to games. Especially narrative games, where you can easily end up completely ruining the pace of the game looking in corners for pointless crap that you feel somehow compelled to try and find. Somehow they've ended up in almost every game
