General Wrestling Thread

Bushwhackers were entertaining at HoF, the rest was a bit meh, Shawn and Nash seemed put out to be there, Shawn just irritates me these days.

Shawn could turn up stoned, tell me City are shit and my mum is ugly and I'd still love him. Even bought his religious preachy book and read it cover to cover. Pretty much the archetypal guy that I think of when I consider what a WWE wrestler should be in the ring and on the mic. Sort of like a lot of the new generation of fans with Daniel Bryan.

We all had our favourites.

Also, after seeing his workout vids it looks like we could see a shirtless Stinger tonight. Without sounding homoerotic I'd be glad.

Swing and a miss :)
Don't act like you don't want it to happen

No I absolutely love him as a performer, I just found, particularly with the HoF, that his demeanour had more than a whiff of "I'm here, and I'm doing you a favour by being here".

That being said, he can claim all the religious conversions he wants, he's still the same Shawn Michaels at heart.

To be honest after hearing some stories from guys who used to hate him and after reading his Christian book, I'm a believer that he's changed and not the same HBK. He seems to be the real deal.

There are things in there that you just don't fake if you know what I mean? Really personal stuff that he said about him and his relationship with Jesus that means either he's legit or the Christian converts I've spoken to are also really good at faking it.

Much of the book was about his battle with his faith rather than the acceptance and wanting a bunch of attention. In fact he wrestles (if you'll excuse the pun) with the idea of how he can continue to be in the business and still be a good Christian. It's a compelling read if you're interested in religion or HBK outside of him as a performer. Most of all he seems genuinely calm and humble now if stories from those around him are to be believed.

Love Michaels, everything about him. No one can take you on an emotional journey and tell a story like HBK.

I know it was ridiculous and I've heard different opinions of it but I love his match with Hogan at SumerSlam. I mean, who else but HBK?

again, though, born again HBK yet it was like HBK of the 90s, playing up because he didn't get his way. Funny but unprofessional.

HBK was amazing. Adore that promo, he couldn't be eviler if he was twirling a moustache.

Not at all, in reality that match needed Michaels to do what he did. He may have been, rightly, pissed off at the angle change but again who else but HBK could pull that off.

The big boot bump was a tad too much tbf.
