Seriously though it’s interesting that people in a town like this are so ready to believe they are in mortal peril. You can kind of see it on here though. ‘Why aren’t the police dealing with these thugs, Black man says support black owned business, racist! Yes they are, they are a loose collection of anti fascist groups who use aggression and have no issue is saying so either.

Do I support anti fascists? yes i do. Do i support them using violence? No, not at all.

What the fuck has John Wick or the Tories got to do with them and why do some want to pretend they dont exist?

I also like the Wick films immensely but ANTIFA are a thing and even use a common symbol to march behind when its time to go right wing nazi hunting.

I see your point, but personally my observation of what gets an overwhelming response from "shouty loudmouths" as you call them are posts by posters who can't defend their perspectives well because they haven't done their homework and/or have no context for their views.

This goes for both sides of the political aisle.

Fucking hell, I agree with you for once. Antifa do exist, but it's become a catch all term for any trouble makers at large protests. Just like Al Qaeda became a label for any angry Muslim at one point. I think people like to label things and put them in neat boxed like this to give themselves a feeling of control over their own fears. I might be talking shite mind.

Context and homework have nothing to do with posters simply unwilling to listen to any dissenting voice and agreed, all as bad as each other myself included many a time admittedly.

Its turning the forum to shit.
 
Where were all the protesters before this happened when black kids were stabbing other black kids to death on the streets of London what seemed like every week, it seems it didn't matter then

See this is a perfect example in that i say its a loose collection of groups, get told no......its a loose collection of groups and around and around we go.

Antifa stands for....wait for it...anti facists and they do exist, they do turn up, they do act violently, they do wear shitty masks, they do have a common badge but no, they dont exist......John Wick......Tories........

Some **** will be along shortly to tell us father Christmas doesnt exist as well!

They actually seem to exhibit quite a few fascist characteristics which confuses the picture even more.

So my advice to those upset -- myself included -- would be to get better at debating or go elsewhere and stop bitching.

Anyone who challenges conventional wisdom better have done more homework and put more thought into their perspective or it's going to be attacked, and that should be no surprise. Anyone who expects otherwise is naive.

And as I keep saying -- everyone is entitled to express one's opinion, and the advent of technology allows one access to the much larger audience than before it, so the maths say you can expect more people to agree, and more to disagree. So when folks overwhelmingly disagree, your audience is very likely telling you something. And it isn't that you're smarter or righter than everyone else.

Too many post their views because they can, without bothering to think about whether they should.

They aren't a "thing" on the same level as specifically organized groups with a defined organizational hierarchy and a published platform.

This is like saying playing a pick up match at the park with some people you run into is the same as City. Both groups play the same sport, but they AREN'T the same THING.

Antifa is a label, and a trope, which is dangerous, and being used dangerously, because it allows others -- you, in this case -- to ascribe a platform and motive set with nothing from the other side to challenge whatever you think because there IS no platform and there IS no spokesman and there IS no hierarchy and there IS no membership.

Antifa literally means anti fascist and they have no issue rallying behind it.

They are a thing it is that simple, they are anti fascists.
