He was playing golf with him once when Brightwell mentioned Alan Balls team talk was basically - you guys are all average players so when you get it just pass to Kinky and run into space - he will find you. I bumped into him in Shrewsbury Town Centre (June, 97) whilst I was away on a course. Just wandering around on his own, seemingly not arsed about anything (unlike the prima donna's we have nowadays). Had a Top-Shop carrier bag in his hand iirc.

To be honest, he didn't often look arsed on the pitch, but could turn it on in a heartbeat and just ghost past three or four players and smash it in or play a killer pass.

I had an argument with a blue a couple of years ago. He claimed kinky was better than Silva. Kinky was a an exciting skilful player in a shit team basically. Having seen him play many times, he was a wonderful player amongst his poor to average team mates. That said, he did go missing in games, and as someone else mentioned, we got relegated twice with him in the side.
