The Premier League is notorious physical and, as is well known, the Germans don't like it up em.

Here was me thinking it was the rag heads.

Didi Hamann and Jurgen Klinsmann stand out but where are the others? Ballack was so-so, Roberth Huth is OK but not really an established international. Not many others come to mind. Why do people think this is?

There is a long tradition of germans in Serie A, starting with Helmut Haller and KH Schnellinger in the 60ties, later followed by Briegel, Klinsmann, Matthäus, Völler. Häßler, Effenberg. They all loved playing there and especially living there.
Netzer, Breitner, Schuster and Stielike then started the exodus to Spain and this is another dream country for german players. Don´t think Özil ever thought about the PL.
Maybe it´s the weather :-)
Owen Hargreaves as well.Blue Lloyd said:Ruhr said:The number of english players, that have made it in the Bundesliga, is as short as that. Not to forget the coaches.

Kevin Keegan was idolised in Germany, Tony Woodcock didn't do badly either.
