I really don't think that's close to similar. Mainly, Cucurella was pulling at Rodri, not blocking his run like a screen. Secondly, they are both facing the ball. Plus neither Rodri or Cucurella were directly involved in the goal. You can make an argument Rodri might have got there to block but that's very subjective.

In this case it's clear cut, he's directly marking the striker and the German is not looking at the ball at all. I really think this is not at all contentious.

On seeing the replay, there was definite intent to block - even movement towards making that happen.
Not a basketball pick, but an NFL block.
