Germany vs Poland - Euro 2016 - 16/06/16

Kapustka who just came on for Poland is one to watch in the future. Thought he was class in the 1st game, only 19 years old.
 
Kroos one of few passing with a idea and movement to it. He does play further forward now Hummels is back. Last game he dropped in between CBs a lot to set the build up going. Imo the reason Pep wants him for us. Tonight is slightly different.

Interesting if Poland top this group, it might put Germany up against one of the big boys in the last 16/quarter final, obviously good news for England.

How does it work. Obviously 4 teams that finish top will play 4 3rd place teams. Does that mean some 2nd place teams are drawn against each other whereas other 2nd place teams get top of the group?

Yeah pretty much:

  • Match 1: Runner-up Group A v Runner-up Group C
  • Match 2: Winner Group D v 3rd Place Group B/E/F
  • Match 3: Winner Group B v 3rd Place Group A/C/D
  • Match 4: Winner Group F v Runner-up Group E
  • Match 5: Winner Group C v 3rd Place Group A/B/F
  • Match 6: Winner Group E v Runner-up Group D
  • Match 7: Winner Group A v 3rd Place Group C/D/E
  • Match 8: Runner-up Group B v Runner-up Group F
Potentially a France vs Germany on the cards if Switzerland beat France and Poland top the group.

Quarter Finals look like:
  • Quarter-final 1: Winner Match 1 v Winner Match 2
