Get behind Pep and City for the last 9 league games.

"Small time"?

Was it small time to be supporting City in the lower divisions? Was it small time to endure Pearce and Beanie the Horse? Is it small time to support the club no matter wlhow well City are doing?

As I said, there are some in our 'fanbase' that I don't recognise anymore.
Yep, small time mentality. Unable to adapt to modern day City. We have standards and expectations as a result of the people who own the club and the people employed by City. Being happy go lucky when we had nothing, no good players and whilst being poorly run was the norm. Acting and behaving that same way during this period is crazy to me but clearly some people do.

The club have our support, go to the games and see the tens of thousands week in, week out and cheering the boys on, that doesn't mean for one second we cannot be critical of them on a city based forum.

Spot on..
Levels have increased with the investment and the big chase for Pep as our manager and the winning mentality he brings, Would Barcelona or Munich be happy to wave the white flag in any year because of the past glories they had won, I just don't get it from Pep ? coming out in an interview and showing our hands for the season and taking 2nd best from the players,

You have to stoke the fire to keep it burning brightly, The football side of things slipped in the summer and mistakes were made in the transfer market and selling Alvarez and not replacing him was crazy

When Players are allowed to coast at this level something is wrong, Pep is a winner and never would take 2nd best

The cheapest ticket yesterday was £61.

If the club want vocal support then they should price it accordingly.

Treat us like customers, and we’ll act like customers. Treat us like fans, like part of the club… and, the results are obvious.

Customer expect value for money

Fans except the good and the bad.

To push out the fans is a dangerous game to play

I salute your optimism, fella. But we haven't yet achieved any of the stuff you are currently tickertape parading around the streets for.
If we are knocked out of the cup and end up in the europa Cup, stuff will be grim.
Not being entitled, there, I'm just being realistic. And, although I don't personally know the club ownership team, I am pretty sure they will be aligned with my way of thinking.
Minimum requirement is chumps qualification and fa cup.
Still, I keep faith in Pep cos he's the best out there, so far. If we squeeze through and achieve our minimum expectations this season, we must have a great club world cup and a great start to the new season or he may be toast.
FA Cup may prove a luxury. But we badly need CL next season. Will be difficult and so may be Thirsday night football although missing out entirely might be a blessing in disguise.

How can we get behind Pep and the team at 70quid a time ? I'll be sat at home

The people who sit near me are all Season Ticket holders, SS3, Block 315. We pay approximately £25 per ticket which is fantastic in this day and age. Those of us on the cup scheme get equally attractive ticket prices.

There quarters of the fans up there only get involved in the atmosphere if we are 3-0.

We’ve become spoiled and very lazy.

Was in block 315 yesterday it wasn't great 62quid we paid :(

There are season card hoarders who list their tickets on the exchange for "lower profile games" and acquiesce with Blues paying an extra £40 for a ticket. Each to their own. That's a legitimate option but lifelong Blues are getting exploited,

I don't think our levels of performance and quality of players has been this low since Sheik Mansour took over. For all the money we have spent this must be a concern for the senior leadership. I am at a loss to understand why we are so inconsistent. All teams have injuries, all teams have young and new players. All teams have transitions. Only City have Pep and our leadership. I will support City till I die and accept no team can win the league every season but this season we have not performed.

The reason in my opinion, is after the treble winning season, we should have gone hard into the transfer market but didn't.

Remember we had Grealish admitting to Pep, that he felt he had no reason left for him to carry on playing football (outside of the millions he could earn) as he'd won it all.

That should have set the alarm bells off in the corridors of power for me.

Yes we won the 4th title in a row (a feat that probably won't ever happen again), but the Dippers imploded after losing to the Rags in the cup, and as usual the Gooners spunked their load too early.

This summer is the most important transfer window for the club since after Peps 1st season when we bought Walker/Mendy et all.

We have to many 30 year olds that are just going through the motions, or simply totally out of form (yes unprecedent injuries have stifled us for sure and added to this).

Somehow those 30 year olds that don't leave this summer, have to have their appetite renewed.

How we achieve that only Pep and the board know. CTID

Agree.

Too soft, too holistic, too sentimental, too worried about net spend.

Fuck all that shit, spend our way back to the level of the Treble winners. In one summer.

this next 9 league games wont be easy neither the Fa cup now our luck ran out of facing only League Two, League One etc sides.

I hope this bit of break gives some time for Pep to think of the errors and how we eliminate them. of course most of our tired players like Bernardo, Gvardiol Haaland will be played 2x90 mins in their national team its not much of a relax for the selected players. but can give others time to come back fitter like Grealish, Bobb and ready to help the team in last two months etc.

its crucial to finish in top5. it can be the difference in getting Wirtz or not getting him if we are in the CL or we are in the EL. its not impossible to get signature of top players in the EL but easier in the CL especially if there is competition from the big clubs.

lets make sure we give Viana the best toolset in his first window and he doesnt have to sell a dream of a EL Thursday night schedule against Kazakhstan United and the likes.

also people underestimate how much the CWC can fuck our whole fitness and schedule for the summer.
its gonna be a mess fitness wise sadly we can arrive uncooked for the start of PL due to it but whats even worse is unprepared fitness wise for the whole season while rivals will be put through a more ideal schedule and better preparation.
in return we can get some nice cash in CWC prizes, Soriano will be happy.

it really can be a transition season the next one where we again fight for CL places instead of a titel race especially if lots of new faces turn up who need to bed in and could be like Pep's first season again with the the lack of proper pre season issue.

I shall be getting behind City by going to the Leicester game. I said I wouldn't do another mid week game because of the ball-ache travelling, and getting home at stupid o'clock.

If Pep doesn't change his ways and we don't muller Leicester, he can get fcuked if he thinks I'll do it again!

Onwards and Upwards into oblivion.

;-)

Maybe we are becoming more and more entitled with each passing week. Without realising it, we have become what we hate most. Pep is the greatest manager this country has seen, and I have no doubts about his ability to put things right.

Just watched the highlights of the Brighton game. It doesn't tell the full story granted but from the comments post match it sounded like we were terrible. Well I thought we were not too bad.
OK defensively City are at 6s & 7s, but if Nico's header against the post goes in we win the game. Yes Brighton had chances too but a bit of perspective required.
We are missing the world's best player from 2024. Going forwards their are lots of positives. Gvardiol broke away more than once and found good space. Marmoush looked very sharp & got a great goal. Haaland penalty very good. Kdb excellent ball into the box.
Plus Nico had an excellent shot v Forest that hit the post. If he scores both his recent chances we are 3 points better off. Fine margins make a difference in the Premier league.
I say wait till we are back at full strength before making judgements. If I believed everything I read in the post match thread we would be getting rid of half the squad that won 4 titles in a row and the world's best manager!!!!
We used to do other clubs huge favours by making knee jerk reactions. I say wait and use pragmatism.

My view is that Pep hasn't learnt from previous mistakes. Definition of insanity etc etc

De Bruyne, Bernardo and Gundo aren't starters any more IMO. Is he too loyal to once great players or too stubborn to admit he's wrong?

I trust him to get it right again but I wish he would integrate more academy players instead of playing the Dads Army in midfield

I'm 100% behind Pep, for the record. The forum now has a reasonable sized amount of folks who want Pep to move aside or move aside in summer with no improvement. I get it, but in my opinion he and the team need more support as it's very poor in the ground at the moment.

But, on another note, I hope this season gets a specific chapter in any memoirs/autobiography of Pep, because I would absolutely bloody love to know his view on it, when the dust settles. There have to be reasons, mitigating circumstances etc, that are contributing to a very pallid representation of City, and I would really like to know Pep's take.
