but tonight has shown me how shite he is. i wish he'd of left carlos on or even put superman on instead. benji didn't seem to try when he came on. no worries though, as ade will be back soon.

frustrating, could have been worse. IMO he was actually on to provide an out with his height, rather than chase down the fullbacks. lets be honest, anyone would have suffered in comparison to tevez on that score.

As soon as Tevez come off and we brought benjani on we instantly put the pressure on ourselves, everytime it come to benjani he either fouled someone or he was offside, the ball just kept coming straight back at us, when tevez was on he held it up and we kept the ball, i'm sorry but benjani is shit, he's only a legend in the eyes of some people because of the derby day goal, if he haden't of scored that goal he would be the next vassell.

If he starts at OT, were doomed.

i guess today is Benjani's turn...i wonder what robbie's thread would have been like had his lazy ass gotten in the game...lol

Why can't people work out the difference between slagging a player off needlessly, and criticism of a player who on the night was useless, he was brought on to do a job tonight, and failed miserably. He's a poor player in this squad, that's not his fault, but why should that stop people criticising his abject performance tonight ?

Useless.

i can tell the difference

'Useless' is a succinct critique of a player who was on the night useless

a thread 'Get the FUCK out Benji' may be a bit unnecessary and OTT

Should have left Tevez on to go for the hatrick or put Ireland on. As soon as he came on we had nothing up top and started to be pressed. I'm surprised he's still here but he doesn't really look willing to fight for his place.

Fair point bizzbo, but the original post was a gut reaction 4 minutes after the final whistle, by someone who either wasn't there, or ran like f**k to his house across the road to post.

However, he has been mostly useless since we signed him, and tonight continued a familiar theme, as I said "he was brought on to do a job tonight, and failed miserably".

Hopefully that will be the last time I witness him in a City shirt. I don't mind the lad, all in he seems like a nice fella, but just not very good.

Cannot agree.

Benji is a useful squad player for us to have when the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choice strikers are injured!

He took the one decent chance that he had against Boro well.

I think that he should start against scunny on Saturday and be subbed by Ade in the 2nd half to give Ade some game time.
Ireland should also play against scunny.

he also seems to have a good attiude and to be a good team player - much like Garrido.
perhaps they ccan rub some of this attitude off on Robi and Petrov?
