House has crap hot water pressure so shower is useless. Been told a combi will sort it. Any advice or views before I splash some cash on this?

If the only problem is your shower why not fit a pump .
Thats what i did . Massive improvement for not much money .

I've just added a pump to my conventional boiler for a couple of hundred quid. By conventional I mean I have a hot water storage tank. You'll still need a pump to get the "power" shower with a combi. A Combi alone won't increase the pressure, if anything it may be slower as the water has to heat on demand. If your boiler is OK and not ready for replacing just get a plumber to add a pump to what you have now. If it is ready to be replaced then go for it but be sure to specify that shower pressure has to be boosted.

The problem could just be that the flow restrictor needs changing/cleaning if DHW is poor to all outlets mate.

Combi boilers, just get one with a higher 'litres per minute' DHW flow (look at the manufactures instructions for you current one), generally Worcester and Vaillant are good boilers to go with, but there are a few others which are decent enough.

SalfordPaul will be your man though with this kind of problem though. knows his stuff.

Thanks. Have had all that checked. Will a Combi defo help hot water pressure? What size will i need? (Modern 4 bed detatched)
What kind of price are we talking about including fitting?

We recently got a new Worcester boiler fitted. It wasn't much shy of three grand. That was with British Gas though. So I'm sure you can get it cheaper. I just couldn't be arsed looking around and as I'm shit at fixing anything myself, thought it might be worth the extra for the Homecare etc.
