We park in the North car park on a match day; and it's a right ball ache trying to get out after a match. So much so, we have to leave a good 5-10 minutes before the end to stand a chance of getting home before the next chuffing lunar cycle.
Anyone else got the same problem?
I understand currently it's the omly way to do it; but the way they stop the traffic, so other blues can get to their cars, really does make it impossible to see the end of the match. If the club could come up with a way to keep traffic moving out of sport city - at the same time as allowing others to get to their cars - then i reckon there'd be more people left to see the end of the match. And God knows we need full support to the final whistle.
So I propose a PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE!
From the bottom of the walkway upto the stadium next to the tennis centre, across to the car parks.
Anyone know how hard, expensive and time consuming it would be to build? Or of any restrictions there'd be eg. planning wise?
I really would love to see the end of each game but if i want to get home and not be stuck for hours in Sport City I have to leave early :/
Write a letter to the club! I wrote one a few years ago saying how the outside of the stadium looked really dull, how even Portsmouth had big tele screens in the stands, how the concourses were boring; and the club did something about it all! they are very willing to do things for the fans!
The unfortunate thing is that there are so many things wrong with our stadium and surrounding areas that it could take a fair while before everything is done! I sit in East Stand Level 1 and before the game I can walk right through the away fans, often getting a burger from a van where many away fans are and sometimes have a chat with a few of the visitors, but after the game I have to walk via Spain to get back to the pub me n all me mates drink in as the away fans get fenced off! fuckin god knows why cos by the time everyone gets to the main road both sets of fans are altogether anyway! this doesn't happen at any other big stadiums that I've been to in this country, at The Swamp and St James' Park away fans come out and intergrate with the home fans immediately and there's no trouble! why we accomodate for the away fans like we do I've got no idea!
A bridge would be a good idea where you're talking about mate! it is a COMPLETELY BRAINLESS set up as it is now! whoever was involved in the planning, building and ongoing management of our stadium were/are obviously novices!
