Getting gig alerts

Can anyone recommend a way in which you get alerted of any pending concerts a band or artist you like have announced?

More specifically ones abroad. Planning on doing New York next summer (June, July or august) and I’d love to get a gig in whilst there.

Radiohead, U2, arctic monkeys and johnny marr all play in New York this summer but all shows have sold out. It doesn’t matter this year as I’m not going until next but obviously a heads up on the announcement of gigs will give me a better chance of getting tickets.

So any recommendations on how to stay ahead of the game would be really helpful.

Song kick the app goes through you iTunes library and find s gigs , or something like that .

Songkick works a treat. Scans your iTunes library, Spotify lists etc. You then tell it which towns you are interested in (so you could just switch on NY nearer the time) and you get an alert at least 24 hours before tickets go on sale. I've used it for years and never miss one I'm interested in.
