Having been to 2 world cups, 2 euro finals and nearly 100 England games since 1975, I am finding it very hard to find any interest in the England game tonight. Its only the fact we have our 'lads' in the team I will watch it.
Why do I feel like this?

World cup showing or lack of it without a doubt, but also why haven't we brought this game North instead of a half empty Wembley, I know all about the 'we have to pay for Wembley' but I think the time has come where fans are turning their back on the National team at home games due to the cost.

Finals, you will never have any problem selling out, people still want to travel and make it into a holiday/break type trip, but have the FA now milked the cow dry.

Your thoughts blues :)

Because it's finally hitting home with a lot of people that despite all the press tubthumping, jingoism, bullshit and hype preceeding every tournament since '66..... that with a couple of notable exceptions, England have been dull, predictable, and by and large..... shite.

its not england its city 2 when was the last time we had so many city players in the england set up hart lescott milner barry wrightphillips and johnson and with richards playing well we could soon have 7 players there who said we are a team of foreigners ill be cheering the blues on to victory.

for the first time in my adult life, im am treating this England match as a complete incovenience , and an unwelcome break in City;s start in the season.
i want 10 prem matches in a row ..every day, every week!!!
So true, just out of August and already another break, its madness. We should use the break for England games to top up our wallets for the next City games....but don't tell the wife!!

I lost interest after world cup in Germany. Quite frankly i couldnt care less if England play at all. I hate it when City players get called up, just because I dont want them injured for us on a weekend. City foremost for me now and no other team. I do admire the England optimists and respect thier loyalty. Funny thing is when it comes to any other sport i always want the English/British to do well. Not that I dont want the England side to do well because I do. I agree entirely that it has been flogged to death. I think the whole international scene is overhyped anyway. Prefer club footy to internationals. Just my opinion. Good luck and have a nice evening to those who follow England, its just not for me.
