Looks absolutely amazing, and i'm not just talking about Ms Johannsen!

I've always meant to try and get into these manga things but i've never read any although i've heard of this title before. Can anyone recommend which version I should watch or read before it is released?
There seems to be so many versions of it.

I think the 1995 film was the definitive one.

I'm surprised people haven't heard about this. It's already caused a lot of controversy as another example of Hollywood whitewashing. Then again, I love Scarlett Johansson.

right, thanks i'll check it out.

To be honest i love watching most women in action films, probably because I don't like whinging women and, yes, they look far hotter than blokes with chiseled chins who have an expression like they are trying to work out a difficult maths equation.

There's two versions available of the Ghost in the Shell movie with a 2.0 release with some of the original cel animation being replaced with cgi versions. A good comparison site for the changes can be viewed here: http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=825158
Or watch a side-by-side view of the opening credits here:
There is also a sequel (Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence) if you enjoy the first one.

I never used to like Scarlett Johansson, but she is top fucking notch. Lips that could suck a man dry and the body of a goddess.

Cheers for that - the original version seems the better one!

Without trying to sound like a snob, I find it weird that "Ghost in the Shell" is quite unknown to the general public! I even remember the rave made of the original anime in Film '95 and the subsequent comparisons of "The Matrix" being influenced as the vision.

I am pissed at the passover of a Japanese actress being able to do this role and Hollywood accepting it. It's well known I love me some Japanese ladies, after all...
