Ghost Towns of Manchester & Salford

It’s basically social cleansing. The working class communities of Manchester/ Salford are being forced out.

This also happened in the early 60's, the people who lived in these houses are now probably living in expensive rental properties filling the pockets of landlords instead of the council giving them a property in another area.

That being said this was happening decades ago where untouchable scrotes were allowed to make areas unfit to live in.

Eccles and Swinton are more like Zombie towns.....i wandered down the precinct yesterday, just to stretch legs/get some air,and there was proof in abundance that society has regressed massively and contributing fuck all has become a lifestyle choice.

Don't even get me started on Bolton.....
I used to live in Eccles in the mid/late Seventies. I then moved away and hadn't been back there until about a month ago. It was quite a shock, there just didn't seem to be anyone out and about, loads of horrible tacky shops, then to see the Cross Keys turned into flats was just too much...

A lot of it is because Manchester council and the housing developers are obsessed with building unaffordable homes/ making profit. It’s becoming like a mini version of London.
The council have it on a repeat cycle of allowing areas of the city to be totally run down. Then they sell it off to developers.
Who do we blame?? I blame the policy of selling off council houses which was the government and Manchester has been knocked down and rebuilt since the sixties, all that’s left is the railway bridges and Victorian arches. Thankfully they can’t really get rid of those.

The HMR areas were private sector to start with.

Here is what happened/still happening in Pendleton covered by the first video:

At one point Pendleton PFI was a £300m project on its own, and was getting £120m PFI credits.

"allowing areas of the city to be totally run down" What would you do? Complain when something is done, and also complain nothing is done, about the same situation.

Certain area’s are redeveloped Hattersley has had development on the fringes Barrett’s have built private homes and Droylsden Marina and town centre have improved but complaining is pretty useless.
New planning laws are responsible for some of it I think people need to educate themselves on who they are electing to positions of power it looks as if Pendleton is going to have a grand scheme if it ever materialises.
I’m out of here now. bedtime.
