this might sound really weird but here goes.....

so i'm lying on the couch last night watching telly and i nod off about 3 a.m then all
of a sudden i'm awoken by what feels like a slight tap on the forehead and can hear breathing in my ear, then all of a sudden my whole body when freezing cold and i started shaking really bad, i was frozen solid on the couch and couldn't move.
i shouted er in doors thinking she had come down and tried to wake me up but it wasn't her the kids were all fast asleep and the dog was in her bed but her back was arched and she was growling.
now i for one did not believe in ghosts or spirits of the deceased but it really freaked me out as i could not offer any valid explanation as to what had happened.

has anything like this ever happened to u or am i just going mad

It's either the cold sweats off a snide kebab or your house has got a round of toast in it.

1) Never start a sentence with the word "so", unless you are a character from Cheers or Friends.
2) There are no such thing as ghosts
3) That was a bog standard, text book "Night Terror" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Night_terror

Shits you right up but you learn to recognise and control it.

The dog may have been reacting to the op's predicament - sensing the panic/fright etc. I did a thread on this type of thing happening a couple of weeks back. Horrible thing to go through but as another poster said, once you recognise it for what it is you begin to learn to not panic and such

-- Tue Aug 07, 2012 4:02 pm --

Mrs Bow used to scare herself witless watching that show. I remember that particular episode - it was all about Dick Turpin. Needless to say, nearly required medical attention through laughing that much. What a fucking fraud he is. That fucking 'psychic Sally' woman is another. Despicable character.
